Once the discussion threads begin on each game year sequentially...I'd like to have each thread begin with a preamble that 'breaks down' the period and gives a slight overview of the 'official' storylines and game mechanics issues. With so many game editions to cover this can seem like a daunting task.
Yet it becomes much less intimidating when taking into account the vast collective knowledge and practical game play experience that exists among those contributing to this forum. Together...the task of creating a comprehensive account of CotG History...both officially stated and unique through game play experience...is readily achievable.
To that end I need your help. I am looking for volunteers who are willing to help with the creation of these 'preambles'. If you have a passion for a specific edition or story arc and want to help then let me know either here or in a PM.
The writing of these preambles is invaluable to building a quality project that we can all be proud of. Be a part of history!

Preamble are starting to fill in.
Early Classics Set: Mike M
2087: Steel Thunder
Invasion Years: Cory Olson
2091: Turkish
War Games: Chewey
GWF vs CPC Years: Adam Smasher & Knapik
Centra Years: Jim Steel
Do you have a favorite story arc or game edition you'd be willing to write a preamble for? It doesn't have to be a book...just an intelligent overview on a roster, some of the official storylines, new special matches, rule changes if any, etc. Something short and sweet but with enough substance to make a specific game year seem interesting to someone who never played it.
Help write CotG history....

Here's an update. I want to pay special thanks to Troy and Jim Steel who helped to eliminate duplicate candidates from the ballots...which given the roster sizes and multitude of character name changes was no easy task. The issue of a five year mandatory retirement period for eligibility is now being vetted...and after that we will have ballots that completely conform to standard and are ready to be PM'd. The voting process is set to open May 8th.
Also a big thank you to everyone who volunteered to create these Game Edition Preambles...something which was essential to creating a high end finished project. I'm proud to announce that every single eligible GWF game issue will have an accompanying preamble. This ensures that every set and nuance will be covered...which when you think about it will be an amazing accomplishment. You guys are the best.
I am looking for volunteers to be a part of the 'ballot certification committee'. It's an easy but important task where a small group of people will help to certify that I 'count' open and closed (PM'd) ballots accurately. If you're interested in contributing to this phase of the project then send me a PM.
