Which Pendekar do you prefer, his rookie card or updated one? I ran some matches between them to see how much the new one improved. They came out pretty even until I put them in an OFC cage (basically OFC rules but the out of the ring rules applies to all 4 charts), when the update slaughtered the younger one.
Personally I see the following pluses and minuses with each card:
2115: pros: strong starting offense, strong finisher, hard to submit. Cons: Slightly weak defense, slower than update, weaker skills.
2119: Pros: quicker, 3 finishers, better overall defense. Cons: Weaker finishers, no more resistance to submission, weaker staring offense.
What does everyone else think? Does anyone still use the rookie card instead of his rookie card? I actually like both so I'm not sure which to use though i'm leaning towards the updated one.
Thanks,
Jay

I don't really like it because he lost his uniqueness with his submission resistence.

While there was the submission resistance on the first card(plus those two quick -3 moves), He has improved a lot for me with his current card. Three finishers usually spells doom for an opponent.

i like the update better, he has been harder to beat. the original card had strong offense but if he started the match on defense, he usually lost for me

When I created Pendekar's update, I wanted to give him two specific things that I thought an MMA fighter would have -- several ways to beat a guy, and a way to turn around an opponent's offense when he (Pendekar) was close to defeat. With that in mind, I couldn't in good conscience keep the no-submission rule in place, or else he'd be too good for the type of character he is.
I'd still like to think he could give Wanderlei Silva a decent run, though...

I'll say one thing; stick him in an OFC cage (all charts follow the ring rule) and he's darn near unstoppable!

In my fed, the update is pretty brutal when he gets L3O.

Hey - I was looking at his card, and his second choice is not listed! What are the choice options on the 2119 Pendekar card? Let me know - thanks!

Lars, I want to start using 'Jimmyfaced' as a verb, but I'm unsure what the meaning should be, and in what context I should use it.
Help a brother out?

Jim,
I'm guessing you have one of the original 2119 cards with the mistake on it.
Ch A is on lvl 1 offense on 5.
Ch C is on lvl 2 offense on 4.
BTW. Pendekar just crushed Quetzal in 30 seconds to win the Cruiserweight Title, which was a shock since Quetzal has owned just about everyone he's fought.
Take care,
Jay

What do you do about Quetzal's finishers. Do you give him double (0) finsihers? Just curious because I want to use him some in singles competition.

I made the first a -3 add 1 move and the second a (0) finisher in singles competition. It's working well because he has wins over most of the OFC, as well as Enigma, Wildcat, and Thayne.

I like the updated pendekar. he recently beat shylock in a classic match for the ofc title and will be makeing a run at prince zed's crusierweight title soon.he's had much more success since his update.
