If you have a suggestion for COTGonline related to anything other than the PbP Simulator, please post it here! I'm going to try to keep this thread a little more manageable than the last one, so I'm going to delete any "Me too!" or "Good idea!" posts. Not that I don't want to see them, because I like knowing that other people think an idea is good, but once I see them and get a feel for the public response to an idea I'll delete everything except the idea itself.
The old thread was just too big to be useful to me anymore, so we're nuking it and starting over. If you've got an idea you'd still like to see implemented from the old thread, please repost it here. Thanks!

BDS. I love the updates. That front page looks great. Keep up the great work. Please don't take anything below as complaining. Consider it tweaking. I am currently running one federation at to different time frames. 2119 and 2087. Eventually they will combine. My stat tracker working dates are Current Stat Tracker Working Dates: 06.30.2118 through 06.30.2119. But, half of my champions displayed on DSPN are from 2087. For example GWF Champion 2119-Endgame and 2087-Comrade Terror where Comrade Terror is displayed, but the IP Champ is . Can it find the champions based on the working dates? Not sure how this is setup... BDS EDIT: Not yet implemented

I was curious if skits and segments factored into the rankings at all. Will this ever become an option? It seems to me someone who gets interviewed or attacks someone, or has air time at all would go up in rankings at least a point or two.

Great idea even if it meant selecting who was in the segment in another step.

You guys don't waste any time, do ya? Yes, we can make that work. I've got useless guts just sitting around in the database for just such a purpose - that's why you can slap a tag on a segment just like you can on a match, even though it has absolutely no use right now. There are two ways we could implement this, and I'm looking for feedback: 1.) I could have a couple of additional fields on the segment editing screen that currently exists. "Major Rub," "Minor Rub," and so on - we could work out the specifics later, and there'd be a drop-down associated with that field with your wrestlers and teams listed. This would minimize the extra steppage going on there. 2.) I could have an extra step entirely where you add "Rub" to a segment. You'd click a link in the card management screen to add the Rub, then you'd pick a wrestler or team and the amount of Rub to add on the next step. That would add more work to the process (if you choose to use it), but it would give the most flexibility. What say you, COTGonliners? And in something else I'm wanting feedback on, I'm thinking about putting my To-Do list up on the first post of the page. That would make things easy to organize for me, and it would let y'all see exactly what was coming. Thoughts?

How about Galaxy Wide rankings for the current Digital set you're using. I'm using 2087 now.. and Monolith is #1.. doesn't reallly help me compare as I'd have to find all the promoters who have 2087 results and see what's up..

I like option 2, and you can put your to-do list anywhere you'd like, see as you DA MAN!

I also had a suggestion, something I keep wishing for, but never put in a suggestion thread. What is the possibility of being able to sort the win-loss records by something other than most wins(which I use a lot). I set up some cards based on records (most wins vs. 2nd most, etc.) and it would be nice to be able to sort by percentage, losses, etc.

Either option is fine by me, as long as its available to be factored in.
The To-Do list is fine if you put it there, knowledge is power.

I think I made this suggestion a long time ago but in case not:
Ratings for your show based on the ratings for the matches and number of promoters viewing your cards, with a little extra for super cards (IE Buy Rate). Come to thing of it, being able to categorize your cards would be a nice little feature. House Show, Weekly Broadcast, PPV/SuperCard.
Second Suggestion that I know I talked to you about a while ago but don't think I put it in a thread. The ability to "hide" a card until you are done with it. For example, right now I have one more match to run for the Conquest ppv event but you can view all the other matches.

Squire got me thinking of another thing that's been discussed, but I don't know what the plans are for it: Being able to select which wrestlers and tag-teams are "active" in your fed. I don't want to delete Creature Feature from my fed, but when they disband, I don't want them hanging on in my rankings.

I like the idea of an option to give a rating bounce on a segment... I think "major" or "Minor" does it, with maybe an option to give someone a ratings hit as well (say Thantos beats down Omega, Omega could lose a little)

I'm adding this, as their fromt he other thread and didn't make it over:
I still want an injury list, ideally with some sort of notation (either a different color, or a (injured until x date message) on the records (and perhaps ratings) screens.

I'd really like to be able to set a default roster.. changing to the correct one every time I add a match.

How about a 'forum-ready' results display that would have the apprpriate bold, sizing, etc. for quick copy and pasting?

just brought this over from the other thread...
being able to identifying wrestlers already in a match on a card. Something like a highlight or check mark next to their name after he/she has been scheduled?

What's the official word on specialty matches? I have my "Companion" booklets wih me usually, but it would be nice to have these added eventually. I remember this coming up earlier and I expect this is probably on the BDS "to do list".

Believe me, I know this is WAY far off if EVER happening, but I'm suggesting it. An completely iPhone compatible version of everything COTGOnline related. Stat Tracker, simulator, Game Table, etc. Get to work BDS!

To everyone who's not Grant, rest assured that your voices are being heard. With this coming Wednesday's update, I'll make sure to get the first To Do list up here, and maybe even knock out a suggestion or two. If I'm not responding to you, it's because I don't need to shut you down. Now on to you, Mr. Toasterboy ... Believe me, I know this is WAY far off if EVER happening, but I'm suggesting it. An completely iPhone compatible version of everything COTGOnline related. Stat Tracker, simulator, Game Table, etc. Get to work BDS! If it NEVER happens, it won't be for lack of interest on my part. I'm a big honk for portable electronics, and I'd love to be able to play COTGonline on my PSP. Most of the Stat Tracker should function properly on a mobile device right now as-is. The coding is done with standard HTML objects and processes, so I can't see the Stat Tracker not working on most browsers, no matter what they're on. I just checked it on my PSP, and it works (Godsend beat Lance in 2:23 in the PbP sim), although the formatting is jacked up. It would be easy enough to come up with a "low-fi" version of COTGonline, though, that strips out most of the graphics and makes the menu a little easier to handle that would be perfect for portable devices. In fact, the more I type this, the better an idea this sounds. The big problem in the long run, though is going to be the Game Table. The Flash file that runs the Game Table is really big, and we just might run into a problem where the majority of mobile devices just don't have the available system memory to actually load it up. I don't know that the Game Table will ever be able to hit a mobile device without some serious, serious optimization. For now, though, all of this is pretty speculative. Maybe in the future we'll have the ability and license to do a "diet" game table specifically for mobile stuff. That's something I'd definitely champion, so if the opportunity arises, know that I'll try to pursue it. But as you said, this is pretty far down the road. Knowing that you like COTGonline enough to want to play with it on your iPhone makes me happy, though.
