Kris just answered my main concern. Good.
I will say this -- the colored artwork is flat out outstanding. I -love- that Master Race color scheme in the header.

Plus, how could you use it a GalactiCon?
I think it's a good idea because there are a lot of younger people who don't like the physical version of board games but love computer/video games. This is a new market for Tom and his game.
I won't use it. I'm a tried and true guy and love the actual physical part of the dice and cards. But I think it's a great business move for Tom and his game.

Ok just read the news page...hadn't seen it before...
Love the colored drawings...and The Others look awesome...
This is a really cool new direction for the game and I know people will love it...
not to mention anything that evolves this game and Tom's vision is cool with me...
Kris did an amazing job and I'm sure it will be awesome...
I'll be sticking with the old-school dice rollin, I've been doing it too long to want to change.
But this looks great and congrats to Tom, Kris, and everyone involved.

Plus, how could you use it a GalactiCon? By holding matches and tournaments involving the people attending and those unable to. This is a new market for Tom and his game. Agreed wholeheartedly. ~ :-Xsk

Now that all the facts are settling in my little brain, I agree -- while not necessarily for me at this time, it's obvious you guys are pouring a whole lot of creativity and quality into the project. If it attracts more attention (and success) to Filsinger Games, then it's a GREAT thing.

I won't lie...This looks friggin awesome...but, I won't lay down the dice...after 19 years i can't.
If a.C.e. is going digital, then COTGOnline actually will open up an avenue for me to run an a.C.e. fed; something i have never been able to find a way to do with the dice. A wife, three kids, the job, scouts, sports, etc. just don't seem to open the avenue to exploring what Kris has put together in Centra. (Sorry but i do have to sleep sometime.)
I am anxious to see the "online" play. While there are now promoters living within an hour of where i do, that is not always the case as the Air Force keeps me on the move. Getting a chance to play online in a "vs." mode someone should add a dimension that i rarely get to enjoy.
As far as COTGOnline at G-Con...someone mentioned last year that the Student Union is wired for WiFi...not that i want G-Con to turn into a computer con, but maybe a couple of systems set up to demo the simulator along with a COTGOnline tournament could be something to add to the mix.
I can see lots of possibilities.
Did i mention the color is awesome!

Hey fellas, I'm not at all trying to divert action over to the other boards, but just so you don't miss anything important, check out some of these topics: cotg2.proboards57.com/index.cgi?board=bigThen keep up the talk over here! I'm going to be around answering as many posts as I can. ~

Just wouldn't ever want to see G-Con turn into a Virtual G-Con, though. Right now i am trying very hard to figure a way to get to Jamestown...if for some reason i cannot make it (think positive thoughts that i will be able to get there), this would be a great way for me to still be a "part". Not that it would replace going (because that is still the best way to participate!), but still an avenue for those of us really geographically separated..

This move reminds me of when Madden and Halo went world-wide on-line. That is a very attractive feature, to be able to play against people all over the world on-line.
The expansion in audience is unlimited. Great job Kris for helping Tom come this far.
This certainly is history in the making from a business standpoint.

The aCe, however, will be going strictly digital I'm gonna buy this for sure, but there is still something I love about being able to hold the cards in my hand, sort them, shuffle them, etc. I hope you guys reconsider making aCe strictly digital .... or at the very least, allow those of us who purchase COTGonline to print out hard copies of the cards ourselves. I am very, very, very impressed with what I see so far. It looks like a lot of hard work went into this from everyone involved. Great job guys!

Before I say its not for me, I'll wait to see the finished product. It will be interesting to see how if the model can incorporate all the bootlegs and house rules out there. I love the color. First rate stuff. I still don't ever forsee myself giving up the cards and dice.
That said, I do see it as a positive and a step that is probably overdue given the nature of gaming these days. Hey, if it helps the visibility of the game, I'm all for it.
From what I can see, everyone involved has done a fantastic job so far. Congratulations for this step into a brave new world.

The announcement has finally dropped, thank goodness I can finally talk about this now.
I think that the feature of the COTG Online that has me most excited is the ability to play against other people, which most of us don't have the luxury of. This opens up a whole world of possibilities: tournaments, efeds, fantasy leagues.
With lower production costs it also allows feds like aCe and CPC to continue, even when the card version isn't as profitable. GWF and LOW will continue to be produced for the card and dice crowd, and there will be other things like Promoter Madness that will keep us old schoolers happy. But I think that COTG Online will help open up the COTG universe to a whole new audience, whic can only be good news for Tom and Kris.
As for Galacticon, the majority of the game playing will be with cards and dice, but we will have some computers there for those of you not on board to check out the Online product. I also have plans for an Online vs. Jamestown tournament, as well as a couple of other treats for those fans who can't make the trip (don't worry, there will be more treats for those who DO make the trip).
Should be an awsome year for Filsinger Games. While Online is a huge beginning, there are still a bunch more to come.

I am among those who will still prefer the cards and dice but it is a very cool idea and I think Tom and Kris will have a lot of success with it.

wouldn't we need webcams to see who we would face at the cons tourneys? I suppose you could do this from home as well...not sure how "over" bringing Kevin Wibble into my house hold would be with my girlfriend but it's an idea...
