What's the point of the CPC?

Just a few points...
1) Your concerns about "history" are no different than the same concerns in place regarding New Beginning. Who's Star Warrior and why should we care about him and Thantos, who the book basically says is out the door soon anyway? But really, that same thing was true about Omega (heck, we hadn't even HEARD of Morpheus in the beginning) and even Star Warrior and Thantos' supposed years of teaming leading up to their split.
Since I decided to do my GWF AU fed, I finally have a reason to care about Omega, Morpheus, Torin Caelum, etc., because I'm playing through their careers.
2) The three GWF King's Court members are really the only CPC guys left with long GWF lineages...and Jack wasn't all *that* developed in the GWF to begin with. Definitely one of Mark's shining moments. Franco Jesterelli bears little resemblance to The Mad Jester...you can pretty much dismiss everything about Genesis and Colonizers to use Blizzard in his current role, etc...
If you want to use CPC at 2119, you need the CPC sets and following:
Scion Nexus (2114)
Exo-King (Son of Bash)
Prodigy (2113)
Velar (2106)
...heck, let's throw in the Qualitar's Gauntlet for fun.
Five cards plus the CPC sets (not the CPC 2105-2108 GWF sets, but CPC Classics 2109 on)...and you don't even need 2109 unless you just want the background info.
