Mark-Have you and Tom thought about any special marketing for the CPC editions in light of the possible influx of new players due to the GWF re-start. Since you aren't promoting the CPC the same way as the GWFs being promoted in 2119, I was curious as to how you might approach this.

Tom and I haven't specifically discussed this, but I think the idea behind Tom's new "jumpoff" point for the GWF is that, with the history stretching back to at least 2087 (or earlier if you delve into the Classics), there were over 30 "years" worth of games to buy to catch up with the current players. This way new players don't have to go through all that backstory right away (or ever) if they don't want to. In the case of the CPC, you could theoretically start with an introductory set of, say, 2109-2113 and get a fair number of cards to get going. Granted, you'd need some older cards from previous GWF sets to round it out, and maybe the way to solve this is for Tom to just offer those cards as part of a CPC starter pack. We haven't specifically talked about it, though. Not a bad thing to consider, though, what with all the continuity we're striving to achieve.
