Not sure if this has already been discussed, but the thought came to me again last night as I was playing a Brainstorm match. How come th Mangus Colby/Sonora Pelf card has only a 4 distraction rating?
Normally I would think that if there are two people at ringside the distraction would be higher. This is the case for Gila and Mollock, who together are a 7. Colby and Pelf individually are 5...but together are only a 4.
So why is this? Are they too preoccupied with eachother to think about cheating in a match. Is the Penthouse Suite at a disadvantage because their bosses are making out at ringside? Since they are paying so much for their investment, don't you think they should work to see that their guys do as best as possible?
What are your theories?

I think they tend not to involve themselves directly in matches, they are more the type to add stipulations prior to a match or have a match "start over", than to directly interfere.
Why risk their own bodies, when they can hire "bodyguards" for their champions. And if wrestlers don't perform well, they are simply fired or removed from the Penthouse.

My theory is that Mark needed to give them an update with a higher DR along w/ Mikicho but never did for whatever reason even though they were the MAIN characters in the CPC story-line for years...
instead he chose to use an old card Tom designed to never have much impact as far as distracting wrestlers during the original CPC-GWF war.

There's a limited amount of cards for Mark to use, and he decided that he didn't want to make cards that he wouldn't use for long.

...? What about Saboteur?

Well Sabatour wasn't really around long either but he was a main player. I thought Colby and Ishido deserved game cards.

Saboteur will be back, have no fear. And he'll be a main player again when he does. I wanted to give other storylines a chance to stand out front while he was gone (primarily the Puma/Barnabas saga), and also give the OFC its own separate stage in the MMA arena.
I never gave Colby and Pelf a new card because it just didn't seem worth it to devote a slot to them when there were so many other better possibilities. A Group of Seven card was a possibility for a while but never materialized for space reasons.

Saboteur was around 6 years and didn't have a card prior to 2112...makes sense to me.

I used sabatour as an example cause I love the guy and always felt he also deseved an update, even if Mark hadn't planned on keeping him around for awhile. He is my current CPC World Champion and probably my favorite CPC character that Mark created.

Well, I don't think Mark's ben too subtle about his plans to bring Saboteur back...which should hopefully ignite the CPC with the most intense war the CotGverse has seen since, what, Star Warrior and Thantos?
Seriously...these two should wind up with the biggest rivalry the CotGverse has seen in YEARS.

Hopefully. I'm hoping Mark at least sows some seeds for the feud in 2120. Although perhaps Cypher (and Stigma) are some of those seeds.

There are seeds in 2120 ... and yes, even precisely in some of the places you think, fellas...

I would Mark use the word "was" when talking about Saboteur being gone? Hmmmm....makes me wonder if he is back in 2120!

How come th Mangus Colby/Sonora Pelf card has only a 4 distraction rating? ... What are your theories? The two are business people and aren't brave enough to risk getting hit by a wrestler should they fail. They probably wear nice clothes and don't want them ruined.
