[glow=red,2,300]The Road Back…CCW Returns to Action![/glow]
If you have been missing your Cosmic Championship Wrestling (CCW), you’re not alone. Back in July, CCW ran into some snags with the holovid contract and then talent issues with payroll. It all fell apart just around the time their big PPV event of the summer Psychopalooza was to take place. “It sucked having the bottom fall out right before this. We lost so much steam and viewship over this,” said Epic, a major star with the company.
Stars became disgruntled without pay, some walked out completely, some stayed on, but took dates elsewhere for the time being. Rock, once a champion with the federation said, “Things were scary for a while, but we bounced back and are now heading in the right direction, ready to smash some skulls and shed blood.”
Now with an ironclad contract with GSPN, the galaxy’s #1 global sports programming network, they’ve picked up some talented, less costly stars to mix in with the established stars of today to give a great blend to the new product. “This new mix of talent will definitely please the long time viewers we had before, plus bring over new viewers with the stars we have from ICOF, DZW and other places across the universe,” states Cyrix, the company’s commissioner.
CCW is honoring 4 major titles: the Universal championship, Intergalactic, TV and the Universal Tag Team belts. They also honor a Lucky Dog title shot holder, which is currently Andromeda.
A name of PPV’s have been released that are tentative. T-Minus will be a free show this year, and the first show back on holovision for the company. Followed by a special Blast called Full Metal Blast with such events using chairs, cage, ladders, etc. Back to the PPVs is Endgame, a major PPV wrapping things up for the year. Starting the year off is Freezing Point, followed by First Blood in March, with Battle of the Best in April. Last Man Standing is in June, with the annual summer event Psychopalooza kicking off July. Backdraft will keep September loaded, as will Rocktober in October, bringing us back full circle to T-Minus.
Asked about other major changes in the company, Cyrix told us that there will be no more random cage matches, and each title match will have special stipulations to it. It’s called a Champion’s Advantage. If the champion wins the first fall, the match is over. If he loses, it is now a 2/3 falls match.
