The BCW has had a turbulent year in 2120. With the departure of several top names as the year wound down, Cannibal has been scrambling for talent. His personal training center, the Slaughterhouse, hasn’t exactly produced many “Seasoned” rookies, and a shakeup among trainers has occurred. Terak has been assigned as Head trainer for the ‘House and has personally supervised several of the stand out students. Some promising up and comers will be making their debuts next month in 2121. These standouts include the long awaited debut of Freakus, a brooding and dark loner. The Wicked One himself, Todd Studd, has also been sighted at the Slaughterhouse working and training along the new recruits.
Wrestlers who have either left the promotion or released include the Necronomicon (Minion & Ashe-released), one half of the Masters of Mayhem, Maim (walked out of the promotion after a dispute with Mass), Wildcat (released), Enigma (retired), Painmaster (left to find Dimension Y) Tocsin (released), Mutant (retired), and Mensar (left for CPC) Add the mysterious disappearance of Glory following an event last month, and the BCW has some holes in it’s roster.
Things have hardly been settled backstage, either. Former GWF commissioner and CPC alumni, Cordanus made a bid in mid-2120 to buy-out the BCW from Cannibal. His bid failed due to some last minute deals, including a new Holovision show on Interstellar Sports-Deep Space in a primetime slot. (Check your local listings for times) Cordanus has since been seen talking to talent across the cosmos and, if the rumors are true, is attempting to piece together a promotion of his own. Could a this "Man with the power" actually pull another rabbit out of his hat? With his old pal Mensar heading back to the Crappy Performance Corporation, would would Cordanus even hope to sign to such a promotion?
Head of Creative, Bishop Hell, has stepped down from backstage booking. The new Head of Creative has yet to be named, with Cannibal himself taking care of most of the Booking duties. As the duties have begun pilling up on him, Cannibal has been less visible on BCW shows as of late. The Commissioner duties have been filled by several “guest commissioners” as the year has come to a close. Rumors are also circulating that the stress of carrying the promotion on his shoulders has taken its’ toll on Cannibal and he’s been in poor health as of late.
The BCW is also entrenched in a bitter feud with the GWF’s front office and core of lawyers. Who owns the rights of the “Monolith” name? Cannibal has maintained: “Even though we never patented the name, we’ve been using it for the last two or so years. Doesn’t that count for something?” The GWF, as reported last June, has issued a “Cease and Desist” to the BCW over the usage of the name. A court date is looming.
With the release of the Necronomicon and the departure of Funboy to the Aethran Rebels squad, the Master has been left without a team and at the mercy of Cannibal’s hand picked Murder’s Row. To his credit, the Master hasn’t gone down quietly. He’s been seen lurking around the Slaughterhouse, watching several of the students train. Evening the odds, ever so slightly, is the departure of Reaver from the ‘Row. He has taken time off to let his body heal after the battles from the last several years.
“Wicked” Todd Studd and Steel Justice have officially parted ways once again, albeit, and for once a peaceful parting. “We just had different ideas on how to combat the Dyad. And now that they are at each other’s throats, we don’t really need to team.” Steel Justice further commented: “Todd and I just don’t see eye to eye. We never have. This partnership was a matter of convience and it’s not convient any longer.” They may not publicly let it show, but I get the feeling there’s trouble brewing between these two.
