So I was reading Tom's book, and I saw mention of something called the "Deimos Perennial". What is this? I'm assuming it's some sort of event that's happening on Deimos, and from the jest of the reading it seems like it happens near the start of the year...

Think of it as Wrestlemania. ;D
It is a PPV like event that intorduces the new wrestlers and kicks off the new year.

I use it as an acceptable way to introduce all the new talent on the first card of a game year. The Deimos people, the original fans of GWF, get to see the new talent first.

It's a term meant to signify the first event of a new year (coinciding with the first card played using a new game edition). So if you have played through 2087...then buy 2088...your first 2088 card would in theory be your Deimos Perennial. |

I'm going to start using this from 2088 onwards. I can definately see this set up as an event held over several days as the different camps hold press conferences introducing new wrestlers and revealing everyone's goals for the forthcoming year. This al lads up to the show itself on the final day where we see the debuts.

Deimos perennial didn't come along for a few years, and i already had a big event, so i sort of use it as the first appearance of the new wrestlers.
