All Singles Matches
1. In a monumental upset, Jim Cornette used two shots of the TENNIS RACKET to pin Animal. Animal just couldn't put away Jim, and Cornette stunned him by slingshotting him into the buckle. Two racket shots later and Cornette was a stunning winner.
2. Harley Race put away Captain Lou Albano following the PILEDRIVER. Lou did get a few shots in early, but Race finally decided he had enough and pasted him with the piledriver to win.
3. Playboy Buddy Rose stunned the crowd by forcing the Sandman to tap to a one leg Boston Crab. The Sandman just couldn't put away Rose. Rose then started working the leg, especially the knee outside. He dropped Sandman kneefirst onto the guardrail. Eventually he got him back in the ring, clamped on the crab and got the submission.
4. Nick Bockwinkle forced B. Brian Blair to submit to the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Blair was game, but Bockwinkle was just too much in the end. He took Blair down and worked him until the leglock was too much.
5. Mil Mascaras put away Virgil with the CROSSBODY ATTACK. Virgil was totally overwhelmed. Mascaras simply attacked and put away Virgil without breaking a sweat here.
6. The Destroyer beat Jimmy Valiant with the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Jimmy just couldn't sustain any offense and Destroyer put him away.
7. Red Bastien pinned Johnny Valiant following the ATOMIC DROP. Unlike Jimmy, Johnny was doing pretty well, but he missed a deathjump. Red followed it up with the Atomic Drop and pin.
8. Ted DiBiase put away Hawk with the MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER. Ted took control pretty quickly and wore Hawk down till he finally passed out.
9. Dick Hutton pinned Stan Lane quickly following a side salto. Lane wasn't too comfortable in singles matches and Hutton easily put him away.
10. Jim Brunzell upset Killer Kowalski with the KILLER DROPKICK. Kowalski was just too cocky. Brunzell used hit and run tactics and finally took it with the dropkick.
11. Don Leo Jonathan put away the Iron Sheik following the MORMON SWING. Sheik nearly had this match. He drilled Jonathan with the loaded boot and almost took the pin. However the ref noticed the handful of tights and stopped counting. While Sheik argued, Jonathan recovered and soon finished things off with his giant swing. After the match, Nikolai Volkoff attacked, and they double teamed him till Jim Duggan made the save.
12. Jim Duggan put away Nikolai Volkoff with the FLYING SPEAR. Duggan basically tore Volkoff apart and quickly put him away with the tackle. Duggan then grabbed the 2x4 and chased Volkoff away, grabbed the American Flag and led a USA chant.
13. Bobo Brazil finished off Bobby Eaton with a bearhug. Eaton was pretty good in singles action, and Cornette's trip nearly led to an upset win, but Brazil made a strong comeback. A few COCO BUTTS and a bearhug later, and Brazil was the winner.
14. Johnny Valentine put away Greg Valentine with the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER. Johnny said he had to knock some sense into his son. He definitely did that with several skullcrushers. Buddy Rose tried to interfere, but Johnny whipped Greg into him, hit one more skullcrusher and scored the pin.
15. Jimmy Snuka put away King Kong Bundy with the SUPERFLY LEAP. Bundy got some big elbows and a backbreaker in, but Snuka kicked out. Snuka then made a comeback, hit a flying cross body block, then the Superfly Leap for the win.
16. Frank Gotch beat Bob Orton with a rolling kneebar. Gotch totally controlled this match and Orton passed out to the vicious rolling kneebar.
17. Buddy Rogers defeated Koko B. Ware in a nontitle match with the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. Ware gave Rogers a match, but in the end Rogers was simply too much and the Grapevine got the submission.
18. Giant Baba used the NECKBREAKER DROP to win the U.S. Title from Gorgeous George. Baba put an end to George's second U.S. title reign in a blitz. Baba wouldn't let up, and the neckbreaker was too much. Cheri tried to get involved but the ref refused to listen to her protests.
