Wolf and Monolith: Linked? DISCUSS

Let me explain.

We don't know a ton about Wolf's early history. We do know however that he has been in his prime for an incredibly long time. Even if you do the whole "alien physiology" thing he's been in his prime way longer than even any other AniMan we've seen.

We do know he's an AniMan. Who also got a Cleansing.

Just like Monolith.

And maybe this is because Wolf always reminded me a little of Marvel's Logan/Wolverine character, but is it possible the Wolf was one of the first subjects of the experiments doen by Kroll and the Master Planners? A forerunner for the experiments that led to Monolih?

Crazy..possible storyline...thoughts?

There could be alot of similarities here, with Monolith being a more controlled specimen, plus with 40+ years of extra technology, the developments in the future would be astounding. I could see a possible storyline with the two with very similar pasts, only Monolith is an upgraded version.

i think you could be onto something...it wouldn't be hard to get Wolf's DNA (he's bled enough in the GWF ring over the years)...and i could see the Dark Menace going to extremems to make Monolith as potent as possible.

Actually thinking more along the lines of what JMello was saying.

Wolf, maybe unknown to him, is the first experiment. If you remember, the Master Planners are scientists from all over the galaxy brought to Kroll. Maybe one is an Andromedan? Maybe Wolf was the guinea pig.

And Monolith is version 2.0 with 40 years of fine-tuning.

I must say there has been a lack lately of interesting threads on this discussion board, but this is the first one to pique my interest in quite a while. It occurs to me, I think for the first time ever, as I read through this that we don't really know at all how old Wolf was when he entered the GWF do we? There really is no benchmark for knowing since he has only improved in all the time he has been active. He entered the GWF relatively soon after it was created, and it is easy to explain that his very earliest card, the one in the Classics edition, was worse just because he might have taken some time to adapt his style to one that maximized his potential in the pro wrestling ring.

Long story short: we have no idea how old Wolf is, and his time in the GWF is no indicator of his age at all. P.S. if any of this eventually shows itself to be true, Monolith is going to be with us for a long, LONG time.

Wolf was allied with the Gladiators, but we don't know how that came about and his Classics card was worse, and by the drawing we assume he was younger, but no...there is definitely no clear cut indication of his age

I think that's why this interests me: We've heard a lot about Monolith's origin, but Wolf is a complete mystery. We do know they share a similar past so who's to say they DON'T have some sort of link (well, Tom could say that of course).

I think it would be VERY cool if through this Monolith storyline we ended up finding out more about Wolf.

Off the top of my head, Tom has stated that Wolf got his Cleansing directly from the Gladiators due to his service in their military and that it was a rare honor for a non-Aethran. Screw is the only other non-Aethran that we have been told about that has received a Cleansing directly from the Aethrans themselves.

Monolith's Cleansing, on the other hand, was administered by the Dark Menace and his associates using technology stolen from the Aethrans by Havoc. As far as Tom has told us, this is the first case of Cleansing Technology being stolen from the Aethrans, and there's definitely a long-term story that needs to be tied up there.

While Wolf remains an enigma, his Cleansing has been explained. That's not to say that he couldn't have been subjected to other experiments, but I do not believe that the Master Planners administered a Cleansing to him.
