Recently I've decided to start a COTG fed back from the beginning, 2084? Of course Thantos is doing well but strangely enough Mutant seems to be faring much better than Star Warrior. Anybody else out there recently starting their fed over or new fans beginning for the first time?

That's cool that you work in so many specialty matches. I find it's difficult to determine when to run specialty or regular matches. Still kind of new to setting up cards so it's cool to see how others are doing it. Thanks for the link.

Certainly you're free to begin your fed at any point that you want...but the 'official' starting points are 2087 or 2119. With the classics editions you can actually go back to 2074 not 2084. When I get through 2121 in approximately 6 months I'm probably going to restart my fed back in '74. Actually, I'm already getting so pumped thinking about it that I might just run both feds at once!

It can be difficult, usually if a feud is running hot is when I'll bring out the specialty bouts. Depending how on the Spike-Warrior rematch goes.. it could very well go into a specialty type match. Glad you liked the link... look forward to seeing your efed results soon if you post them

I started rolling a die before every match and a '1' meant that that match would be a special match. Then I made up a chart that had all the special matches that I liked at the time and went off that. It worked for me then...now after 15 years I just go on my own whims.

I often book special matches based on how I'm feeling at the time. But a sure fire way,and I used to do it like this for a long time, is to only book special matches on supercards and PPV's.
That way a specialty match seems like an "event" whenever one is held.

That's a good idea to roll a die to determine the kind of match. I like to have specialty matches when I run a title shot but other than that I feel clueless sometimes. It's good to know too how long people generally run a year for. So at six months a game year it should only take me about a million years of constant playing to catch up. I'm game for it.

Tom went back to a year between editions now, so actually it would be much easier to catch up.
I'd say dont worry about catching up. Take your time and enjoy the early years of the GWF. Some of the best wrestlers came from the earlier year. Especially the 3 Wargame editions. Which IMO is by far the best 3 editions next to CPC 2105-2108.
