I'm just coming back to CotG so I'm pretty far behind - and either I missed it somewhere, don't remember, or it's pretty new, but...
On offense, what does "add 1" mean on a maneuver?

You simply add 1 to the opponent's pin rating

You add it before the pin attempt, if you roll a pin attempt on level 3 defense. Just wanted you to know the official rule.

You add it before the pin attempt, if you roll a pin attempt on level 3 defense. Just wanted you to know the official rule. And as we discussed once before in a spirited debate about Add 1 being better/worse than some finishers, that particular situation results in 2 pin tokens (or 3 if Add 2) if they kick out.....making Add 1's very potent at times.

While I know the "official" line of reasoning is to add 2 on Pin attempts, I recently switched to Mark Ashby's interpretation of the rule: add 1 before the Pin attempt (unless you have a rare situation of a comeback on L3D), but don't add another one.
I like it a lot better that way, personally. Matches last longer and guys like Wraith are only cheap as opposed to absurdly cheap.

That's how i play as well. An add 1 should not be better tahn a +4 finisher ever.

Add 1 or Add 2, in the official Tom rules, are NOT better than a finisher. I stand by that.
Automatic pin attempt trumps possible pin attempt.

Other than the Jester Clone, are there any other characters with "add 2" moves? (not counting bootlegs of course)

Hmm.
My interpretation of the rule involves adding 1 (or 2) if the opponent rolls PIN on L3D - and that's it. If they kick out, they add one token, just like normal (not a total of 2 or 3 tokens, respectively).
At least that's the way I plan to run it...
