This is probably old news here, but being new to this scene, I just found it by accident. One of my all time favorites, and he mentions CoTG in the interview..weird that he calls it a board game, but cool anyway. Long live KKB! slam.canoe.ca/SlamWrestlingArchive/bundy_interview.html

Yeah, I asked him that question via e-mail. (My initials are MDA.) That's not a joke.

I didn't think it was a joke, I just thought it neat to see him talking about it. Thats one hell of an endorsement. Had I not been on this board before reading the article, it would have sent me here.

And I didn't think you thought it was a joke. (This is getting convoluted...) I just wanted it not to seem like some sarcastic comment or in some way an untruth. I really did ask that question because I wanted COTG to get mentioned in the interview. As I recall, that was where the basis for SLAM's subsequent coverage of COTG started. So I guess it worked!

And I quote: Aw Geez!
Okay. On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me: a beer.

I remember asking Tom about the "board game" comment that Bundy made in that interview. Apparently Bundy apologized for it later, he just got mixed up at the time.
Pretty cool finding out years later that it was Mark who was responsible for the COTG plug in the first place!

There was no date on the interview, when was it? They still make mention of WWF and WCW in there.

he mentions WCW, so that would count it as years...Looks about Attitude era... I thought it was recent too and I was like, "Geez doesn't this guy age..?"

Hey just read the interview and I must be the friend he was talking about. I remember talking to Colin Douglas backstage and we were talking about our PTP baseball league and Bundy called us over and asked us about PTP and if it was better than strat-o-matic baseball in which he was a fan of. He then asked if I played any other sport games and I told him about COTG. Then the bartering started. He wanted to trade some memorabilia to Tom "Phil Singer" for a free game. I said sure Tom would do that no problem and the rest would be COTG history. Plus I had to make up to the COTG world for introducing Tom to Greg Valentine.

Yeah, Mike gets the credit for Bundy's entry into COTG/LOW fandom. I had forgotten the details of the story, so thanks for the reminder Mike.
Hey wait, aren't you also responsible for Greg Valentine getting on board? Hmm...

Thats pretty interesting, and now I'm just jealous knowing you actually know the big man himself. Very impressive that you brought Greg Valentine into this too, but not as impressive as Bundy. ;D

At least you introducing Greg V. to Tom has gotten lots of money donated to the Falconer area schools at the GCon auctions over the years.

Cool interview.
For some reason, Bundy does a little better in my GWF fed (he just pinned Cylopes on my last PPV) with his Avalanche card than he does in my LOW fed with his King Kong Bundy card.

Hey in my defence I did tell Tom that Bundy would make a way better guest then Greg but Tom admitted that he was a big Valentine fan and that's who he wanted to bring and Tom is the boss. The oddest moment for me was when Virgel came to G-con and I came on the porch where Virgel was talking to a few of the guys and Virgel saw me a came up to me a said "Mr. Fortune how's it going. I haven't seen you in a few months". He then went and talked to Tom. Sam Luptak than came up to me and said that was so cool a big name wrestler knows you. I asked Sam not to tell anybody that until the con was over. And for the record I dodn't know he was going to be there that was also all Tom.
And hey I have apologized about Greg many times and like Mark said at least the school has made good money from the Greg fiasco.
