In Canada we have a provincial election coming up and the big debate is over funding for faith based schools. Right now you can go to public or catholic schools. Any other school and the parents have to pay. The Liberals say no to faith based schools and will continue with the public/catholic shcool system. The Conservatives want to fund all relgions to their own shcools. eg: muslims, buddists, catholic, and a few other religions will all have their own schools paid for. I think religion should be kept out of the school system but the Liberal leader is a major douche bag. He has broken every promise his goverment made last term. So my problem is I am a liberal and I support the liberal party but I really hate their leader. So how would you vote. We do have other parties running but the liberals and consertives are the big 2.

I think you vote based on your personal beliefs and not the individual who may be in charge of the party you most identify with. Whichever party seems to be most in line with the issues most important to you, that's who you owe your support to. Issues are bigger than individuals.

Isn't that how we got George Bush and a congress full of Arkham escapist? It sounds like you don't want either party to win; so don't vote for them. Vote for the candidate you think is best; even if you have to cast a blank ballot. Remember, you see it as voting for the lesser of two evils. They see it as supporting their evil ways.

What I mean is that if the issue that the party is fighting for (including the guy you don't like) is one you share, look past the individual you have a problem with and realize that even though you don't like him, the issue that they'll vote on is one you'll support, too. But definitely don't vote for the other side. If there's a minor party that you also agree with, consider them anyway. There's no such thing as a wasted vote, as far as I'm concerned.

Vote for Cthulhu! Why settle for a lesser evil! If you have seen the little fish with the Jesus in it, I have one with a demonic fish that says Cthulhu in it. I do like the Liberal party but the leader they have right now I would take George Jr over him, that's how bad this guy is. Out of the 230 electoral promises he had outlined in his red book on what his government would do if elected into power they have broken over 100 of them and kept 1 and that was the hiring of more teachers. If I don't vote liberal than I will vote for the Green party. I just can't vote for the Conservatives and the NDP who are the third party and the pro union party are a definite never for a vote.

The politics of depressed third world nations like Canada don't interest me. ;D
I guess I can't get away with that anymore since our currency is comparable.
I have a very cynical view of politics and politicians, but would think there are important issues at stake on which voting decisions should be based.

Hey Canada's health care is free. Too bad you have to wait six months to be able to see a doctor. Is that good?

Well the PC had the race in the bag until they brought up the whole seperate school systems for all religions. People are fighting to make a non racist country and I think that this would have been 1 giant step in the wrong direction. The Liberals won the election. I voted for the green party and they placed 4th.
