Man I was bored and going through the 'Board Ideas and Suggestions' section, and WOW did there used to be a lot of spite and hate rolling around here! I mean I knew it was brutal sometimes, but these days it's a freaking utopia in comparison. Honestly, I kind of miss the way things used to be haha. Looking back, there were some fun little feuds.
Someone (or all of us) should go through a make a list of the best board feuds/moments of the past few years for old time's sake. Surely we can look back and laugh now, right? Sure are a lot of white names haha.

I guess I'll start adding some here for people to check. If you guys want to add some too, this could be a cool thread. Remember a thread/series of threads that got people fired up? Here's an obvious one, and perhaps the most recent: Benoit, Althusser, and Legacies[/b] the feud: Hegemony vs. the board the time: June 27-29, 2007 what happened: Hegemony decided to play a sort of devil's advocate at perhaps the worst possible time. This set off all sorts of fireworks (from myself included) with a couple people coming to Hegemony's defense. People were emotional about Benoit and this gave them a chance to let stuff out... a lot of it in Hegemony's direction

uh oh...[/b] the feud: Swam/Payback/Joe vs. Splattercat/Tommy B/Ingersoll (with Pure Hatred, madacapa, floyd the barber, and Chewey somewhere in the middle) the time: May 15-22, 2006 what happened: Swarm starts one of several "Joe sucks" thread into motion.. and gets 115 replies. That quote right there set some into a tizzy (where was I during this?!). Typical back and forth between the usual suspects. Some points of intrest include madacapa showing up, which is always a treat! He suggested that to save TNA, Goldberg and the Ultimate Warrior should come in. Crap, I miss madacapa. Great quote from madacapa: Then basically Chewey is all 'Huh?' and madacapa's reply is priceless: (italics retained for hilarity's sake.) PureHatred with the quotes of the thread: & The Joe vs. Umaga talk went back and forth for pages and OF COURSE nothing was accomplished. I wish splattercat and Tommy would come back. I like those guys, and they made for some interesting moments. neily wisdom:

I've had some bad insomnia the past month or so and I've been reading some old threads on here too. It is amazing how many run ins there have been. Swarm vs. Everyone (except Joe/Payback), MFT vs. Me, Bazzy vs. The English Language, The Deuce Originals vs. "The Hive", COTG vs. Wrestling Wars.
It's really an amazing, humorous thing to look back on.

What better time to discuss difficult concepts than when the emotions are raw and unencumbered? Avoids pleasantries and potentially gets to something "Real". And for the record, I still have not watched a Benoit match myself, although I did go back and watch his testimony at the Guerrero "Tribute" show. Chilling. Sorry for the hijack.

I haven't either, but the recent news regarding the internet suppliers -- specifically a couple of names involved -- is equally as chilling. (And sad, in many ways.)

Someone in Jamestown please...[/b] the feud: Galacticon vs. Non-attendees & Swarm vs. Wildfire/Holland the time: Galacticon 2007 what happened: Jim Steel posts fake spoilers at the behest of GalactiCon attendees, and some people didn't appreciate the gesture. Some people got it... and some people, well... didn't... In the middle somewhere Swarm and Holland almost came together and did a little business; Pete Beck managed to fit Death Knight into the conversation; and jefft and JamieOD sang a tune for peace. Man, I'm so at Havo... GalactiCon next year. neily wisdom:

Rule proposal[/b] the feud: Swarm, Joe, Payback, Knapik vs. tafkaga, Splattercat, CanadianPitbull; somewhere in the middle: LWPD, offspring, Butters, Chang the time:April 1-9, 2006 what happened: Hawk suggested a rules change to make everything tighter and nicer around the COTG boards, Swarm called him a wiener, tafkaga threatens to contact Swarm's work, these new Canadian guys show up, Knapik jumps in, this guy named 'Chang' who had like 4 posts makes half of them here, offspring - as usual - is a voice of reason (and most ignore him)... wait, did I just say tafkaga contacted Swarm's work?! Now I didn't catch ALL of the venemous threads, but this one I remember because I figured prominently in it for a couple pages and I remember this as the most brutal thread at the time. Bear in mind that I like splattercat, Hawk, and Canadian Pitbull very much now (CPB and I work on bootlegs together) and when I write these things up it's all for fun. Hawk had an idea - basically if you talk trash or even hint at it, you're gone. Swarm, Joe, Knapik, Trav and even Chris Ingersoll didn't think it was a cool idea (try to get those 5 people to agree on anything and good luck... go ahead, I'll wait.) Quickly tafkaga and Swarm - the two of whom I think it's no exagerration to say they hated one another - started at it. It was pretty nasty, and tafkaga deleted his account halfway through. I think he came back once more, but that didn't last too long. I think even Tommy Brownell was on Swarm and co.'s side, so this thread is HISTORIC for several reasons! A few people took some vicious shots at Chris: And it wasn't really fair at all. Knapik jumped in and wondered why 'cat and CPB - two new members of the board - were all over Swarm's case from their first posts. Splattercat and Knapik went back and forth with catty comments like a couple girls. Chris eventually gave it the ol' and nothing got resolved (or would have had the thread continued.)

Ahhh the memories.
Before work I would come to the board and see a new feud had started and by the end of work there would be 8 or 9 pages to catch up on.
But could we quit with the Brian Peppers pictorials please. Seriously, this guy gives me the creeps. The mutated retards from The Hills Have Eyes are better looking.

Swarm, Joe, Knapik, Trav and even Chris Ingersoll didn't think it was a cool idea (try to get those 5 people to agree on anything and good luck... go ahead, I'll wait.) Hell, just getting four of them (us) to agree would be a feat, never mind all five.
