Something similar happened on my street.
I was sleeping in. It was my day off. The phone rings and it is my sister-in-law. She asks if I am OK. I say yes, why do you ask? She said that a man is having an armed stand off with the police on my street. She said it is all over the internet. So I look out my bedroom window and the police have set up a staging area on the street right outside of my bedroom window. There are police cruisers, a police van, and many news people. And I would have slept through it all if my sister in law had not called!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More to my story:
I call my wife to tell her what is happening. She freaks out and says to take the dog and cats and go into the basement in case shots are fired. I look out my front window and the neighbors and their kids are lined up on the sidewalk in lawn chairs watching all the activity. I figured that the police would have told them to go inside if there was any real danger, so I did not hide in the basement.
Swarm, if there are shots fired, just be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't believe it when I saw it on the news.
I called Swarm and told him to stay inside!
We need Monolith to come and regulate.
Plus, there is a huge storm that just rolled in and tornado warnings everywhere.

I called Swarm and told him to stay inside! Good job. I can think of at least three people (maybe more ) who would've said "Hey, Rob, there's something going on near you. Why don't you go check it out."

Two quick points.

The guy at the gas station told me they brought in a tank, blew his windows out and shot and killed the guy. It was right around the corner from my home. I wanted to drive by and check it out but there were still a lot of cops at the scene as early as thirty minutes ago. I'm sure it will be in the paper in the morning. Crazy.

This still isn't in the paper but I heard the dude killed himself. I guess he was going into foreclosure, they showed up to take the home and all hell broke loose. On the bright side, there's a pretty nice house available in my area now if you don't mind living in a place where someone was killed (I couldn't do it).

Probably because there was a similar incident on the other side of town but in that incident, the tank transformed afterwards and did a little jig. They couldn't put two similar stories in the paper so the other incident won out.
