First off, I don't want to open a can of worms here. Nor do I have anything truly astonishing to say, but here goes what's on my mind.
I've been a member of this board for sometime now and have never felt like a real part of it and that's fine, I feel like I contribute when I like to and sometimes get a response. I've never felt completely a part of the community as a whole.
When I saw the Deuce put on the official page my original thought was "Oh, great, another message board to read each day." I hope you notice the lack of enthusiasm in that statement. What the Deuce did offer was a fresh start and I began posting there, more so then here. I was accepted there and have grown to really enjoy that board, with people replying to my feds, such as Wildfire, Osk, and several others, that I truly look forward to each day. On top of that, as I stated previously I enjoy the skin of it more and I like the basic color scheme.
Now that I've spoke my peace on that all I ask is if something is to happen to the Deuce, please notify those of us that post there prior to deleting it. I'd hate to have to retype out my EC and aCe results, simply because of a disagreement I know nothing about. Remember, other people do post there too. Don't penalize all of us loyal CotG promoters.
I love this game, you love this game, that's what brings us together, let that be the focus.

Mello I have all my fed results saved on my computer, you might want to try the same. Not just in case the Deuce is deleted, but just to have a backup of some sort. It can save you lots of retyping if some of your stuff was lost. If you can, you might want to try that, just for your own peace of mind if nothing else.

JMello, I can promise you that will not happen. But I always save my things just in case as well. Offspring, on the other hand, I'll delete his crap at the drop of the hat. right offy? (This is a joke...k)

Hey Jmello -
Got a little suggestion for ya:
I USED to do what it sounds like you're doing, and type results straight into proboards.. saves time, right? I, too, got a little nervous about losing stuff (I think it was when THREAD imploded) so I started copying and pasting.. but it didn't format well.
So NOW what I do is write the card up in Word (obviously, you can use whatever).. in fact, thanks to the wonder that is my laptop, I actually type the results as I'm playing. Then I have the card on my computer, so its saved forever, and do the copy and pasting from Word onto the board. While I often forget to do so, it also allows you to spell check and that sorta thing.
I just have 1 big file for each fed.... my NB one I just started is about 18 pages in word for the 7 cards I've played. At some point I'll probably break it up for data integrity purposes, but its nice to have everything all together.
I really think this is a great way to keep track of stuff, far superior to the notebook system I'm sure we all used before computers... and with the added bonus of being able to share results with almost no extra work.

I print out every card from TGFITG and I also have everything backed up on a disk. You could always easily start a new fed thread here and copy and paste everything here.

For years I've first recorded my results in short form into a notebook, and then transfered the results long form to word. From there I would take the results and copy and paste them to either the boards or yahoo groups. That way everything is completely backed up.

That's what I did before I had a laptop... the problem was I would get behind and not play because I had too much paperwork... which is no good.
Definately the way to go if you aren't set up to play next to your computer, though.

I do this also. And I keep track of fight cards in a notebook too, so I have a hard copy of everything important. I write out the results in Word because I play out my fight cards with COTG Desktop. It did take a long time to type in all the cards and charts for the game though.
If you are interested, you can find COTG Desktop below. And oh yeah, it's absolutely FREE:kinsmangames.com/cotg-desktop/

I have the basic info in my notebook, then I type that out into a card onto the Deuce, then if I have time, which sometimes I forget, I copy those results into a word doucment. The fact still remains, I prefer the Deuce stay where it is.
