I wasn't offended. After spending a few nights in chat with me, you should have known that. pecker-head. Um .... I was worried about Bindi Irwin's feelings actually. Why does everything always have to be about you??

I am shocked that this Bindy Irwin thread has gotten to two pages and I am now posting to just try to get it to three.

She's plastered all over everything. If she had a TV show, I wouldn't watch. When they keep dragging herout on the news I can't avoid it. Sure you can. Read a newspaper. Listen to the radio. I've gotten away with not watching TV news for a good 10 years now. Look, she's a kid. Kids are (generally) cute. Kids whose parents die in tragic circumstances are even cuter to news people. But to say you can't avoid it, I don't buy.

Oh, and I'm sure there's never an article about her in the newspaper. Yes, I know you don't have to read it. This is like the tired argument on here where someone claimed to have never heard of Kevin Federline.

Look, you can see her and ignore the coverage and/or move on, or you can show how odd it is for a grown person to say an 8-year-old girl needs to shut up.
Rail against the darkness or light a candle, whatever your candle may be. It's perfectly fine to be upset at the media for covering her ad nauseam, but being upset at her just for being herself, that's a little harsh.

Rail against the darkness or light a candle, whatever your candle may be. It's perfectly fine to be upset at the media for covering her ad nauseam, but being upset at her just for being herself, that's a little harsh. Hence, the reason for the title of this thread.. "Does this make me a bad person." Apparently, you think so and that is your prerogative. I did not wish her harm I just don't care to hear her or hear about her anymore. I'm sure that there are plenty of instances of everyday life that people would want an eight year old to shut up, this one just happens to be on TV.

I don't think you're a bad person, man. I just don't agree with you here. I don't know if you're a parent, but I am, and when my sons are 8 (or whatever age), and if in some potential world they're lucky enough to be doing something they like that they're good at and involves people watching them in the public eye (hey, you never know), I'd be damned if I'd let someone say they need to shut up just because the media's covering them. That's probably why it's hitting me the wrong way. The dad instinct. I get as ticked off at the media as the next person for blowing so-called celebrities (cough Paris Hilton cough) out of all proportion to the attention they should be getting. But Paris Hilton is an adult (supposedly). Bindi Irwin's a kid. Having fun apparently. I hope if someday she's not having fun, they let her stop. So I'm not mad at you or anything. I just hope you see that it's just the media you should be upset with (and you seem to be) and not the kid or even her family. All parents worth their salt should want what's best for their kid, and as long as no harm is being done, nobody else gets to say what that kid should or shouldn't be doing. People don't have to like it, but they don't get to question it. So more power to the Irwin family, I say. They're doing good work. And no, I'm not tired of her, either! So I think I'm done now. Let's get back to playing the game we love. Peace, dude.

Thanks Swarm, but I wasn't trying to win anything. I see what Dave's saying, and if this girl were 18 or older, heck, I might say it, too.
