So my mom went to get some Thanksgiving decoration or something over the weekend. And they had already put that away so they could bring out the Christmas stuff. What's up with that?
I also noticed that the Christmas ads on tv started showing up the day after Halloween.

Thanksgiving is only a commercial success for supermarkets, hence retailers ignore it.

Kind of sad that this holiday is ignored by stores- no much to sell, but they could at least wait until Black Friday to put up ads. Hold some of the sanctity of the Holiday, at least.
I hate when I see Christmas stuff out before Halloween.

I haven't seen it out before Halloween yet. It just bugs me. I'm not ready for Christmas to start until the trees up the day after Thanksgiving.

Cartoon Network annoyed me last year too. They dropped most of the Christmas specials in favor of nothing and they were the only way to see half of those shows anymore. I'm not paying some obscene price for a VHS of the Troll Prince.

I tend to agree with a bit of everyone of these posts....
I usually see more "autumn" decorations, rather than Thanksgiving decorations now

Thanksgiving's main problem is it's too similar to Halloween except for turkeys. I could go into a whole debate on CN but that will be another time.

Went for a little drive yesterday and saw X-Mas yard decorations out already! Good lord, those things shouldn't be out until after Thanksgiving...

Personally, I think that the "disappearance" of Thanksgiving has to do with the attitude of most Americans. A lot of Americans are just not very thankful. I work in a retail Christian bookstore and people complain, argue and get upset about the smallest and most insignificant things. They will make a complaint at a moments notice. But very rarely will anyone say "thank you" when they receive outstanding customer service. I think that this is a big problem in America. Especially when you consider that many of the people in the world live on something like less than a dollar a day. On top of that, 35,000 children a day die from hunger related problems. We have so many things to be thankful for. It is a shame that too many people don't realize that.

Well, just went to CVS today, and Salvation Army's ALREADY out there ringing their bell. Oh boy. I can see it AFTER Thanksgiving, but now? Gimme a break. This depresses me.
Anyway, let me be the first to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Anyway, let me be the first to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! I have seen the Salvation Army bells ringers collecting donations in July because "Need knows no season". Personally, during the holiday season, I intentionally shop at stores that allow the Salvation Army Kettle Drive because they do SO much to help people who are in desperate need.

See, we up here in Alpha Centauri celebrate out Thanksgiving before Halloween...That way we don't glaze over any of our really important holidays... EDIT: Also, we actually do have Thanksgiving decorations...They aren't as extensive or long lasting as Halloween or Christmas, but Thanksgiving has a theme here...
