Hey guys --
I think I need a new system, as the one I came up with on the spot is not quite there... so I'd like to come up with a better way to keep track of things to make it so everyone has a chance all the time, and stays interested.... so, to that end,, rather than groping around in the dark some more, I decided to solicit opinions.
First, and most important, do you like the broad questions with many answers, or would you prefer single answer questions (were we to go with the 2nd, it would likely be at a particular time over on son of THREAD, otherwise its too much about who sees the question first)
If y'all think we should do the 2nd, most of the rest of this is moot, but feel free to offer an opinion anyway
Scoring wise, I think each question is going to be worth the same... would you prefer a % thing (you give half the answers, you get half the points) or a set amount for 1st, 2nd, etc I think the former is more fair, but its also more complicated
I've been trying to come up with things that are hard to search for, do you think that's a good thing?
How often is good? I was kinda doing 1 question a day, to make sure everyone got a look, but also keeping things moving... too quick, too slow, or just right?
topic wise, I've been sticking mostly to pop culture... what other types of things would you like to see (Ie history, current events, math problems, whatever)
lastly, would you rather see this take place here, or over on BDS' new son of THREAD board?
Ok, go to it!

I seriously think that points should be awarded in Whose Line style. Nothing could possibly keep the spirit of THREAD alive better than that.

I'd be into the whose line style scoring. But what we really need, in my opinion, is slightly less open ended questions. Kind of like the old board game Outburst, where the questions pretty open ended but where there are only a set number of "right" answers.

The Who's Line scoring system lends itself very well to your own personal bias*...That and if we respond in any funny/cool/disappointing ways you could always award/smite us as you see fit... EDIT: *Not that I'm accusing you of personal bias**... EDIT: **Not that I'd tell you if I were***... EDIT: ***But if you decide to adopt a personal bias while scoring, the Who's Line Scoring method would make the trivia more chaotic and less disagreeable...

"Splattercat, I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." This is really how it needs to be done.

What's funny is that's EXACTLY what I was thinking when 'Cat missed the Farscape references (Sorry, bud, but the wound is still fresh)
I'm going to off to Louisville for a business trip tomorrow, until Sunday, so I may not have internet access...
Y'all can plan on a NEW round of trivia to start then... so if you have opinions on how to do it, drop'em here...

Nah, I think it takes a historian to throw together a good trivia session...We'll likely wait till you get back.. And when you return to SonOfTHREAD, I'm sure Holli and BDS will have their 5. Loaded Boot -3 add 1's ready... ;D
