Today we mark the passing of a dear friend. Though he only lived for two weeks, he had an impact on all our lives. Shed your tears if you need be; but do not dwell too long on THREAD!s passing. Instead remember all that THREAD! had brought to you, a new understanding of your fellow posters, a chance to express yourself on Music, Book, Games, and pretty much anything else that was on your mind, plus the cool scanning laser that comes out of your robotic eye. Turkish gave birth to THREAD! all those days ago with a simple question; "Whats going on?" expressing his dismay that the boards had become somewhat mean spirited and it was driving people away. THREAD! sensing it mothers dismay set out to solve this problem by creating an Utopian collective starting with One of Many. And THREAD! succeeded as THREAD! itself was good fun spirited, but never nasty conversation. And that my fellow THREAD! Heads will be THREAD!s lasting legacy. THREAD! brought peace, prosperity, and a sizable boost to post counts to the COTG boards. THREAD! may have passed on, but its legacy, its era shall live on. Long live the Era of THREAD! Viva La THREAD!

You know, given all the Sci-Fi references and more obvious Collective reference, you know who THREAD reminds me of most..? Lal "Lal suffers complete neural system failure—dies—a little more than two weeks after her activation. After Lal's system failure, Data transfers her memories to himself.

Here are the directions to the COTG chat on IRC Go to www.chat.org.uk/downloads/ and download one of the irc programs, preferably mIRC. After you install, go to Optoions-->Connect-->Servers. Hit "add" and type in COTG for description and "irc.asylum-net.org" for the server. Go back to Connect and type in your name, e-mail (you can type anything in here I think but they need to have something in them) and below that type in your nickname and an alternative nickname. Then hit the connect to server button. Once it's done it's thing, type in "/join #cotg" and you're there. There might not be anyone in when you come in, we're just getting it started again. Also, here when I get an e-mail response from the network I want to move to, we'll change the server over to the new network.
