I finally was able to break down my wife's resistance and got a DVR for X-mas, and man do I love having it. I wish I had been more insistent earlier, because it totally changes the TV watching experience. Now if I'm watching TV I'm watching something I want to watch. If there is a show I really want to watch it doesn't alter what I am doing the rest of the evening. I don't get the wfie upset because I am watching Raw while she is telling me about her day...I can just pause. About the only time I am watching something live these days is when I watch sports...and then I am trying in vain to fast forward. Definately helps with watching wrestling (even if I do delete alot of Impacts or Smackdowns without watching them...if I want them they're there).
I'm a bit of a TV junkie, but not crazy...so I highly suggest that anyone get one if you watch TV at all. Who out there has one and will back me up? Who has been on the fence and needs more convincing?

Easily the most-justified $5 on my monthly cable bill. I cannot speak enough good things about this service/device. My favorite feature is the "instant replay" button, especially while watching a wrestling event.

My DVR has completely changed the way I watch TV. Invaluable.
