Extra tidbits:
- Lost interest in watching wrestling a few years ago pretty much when Steve Austin and the Rock both stopped wrestling, WWE was only thing on, it just seemed to get REAALLY boring, slick, packaged, generic...realized I lost interest even before that but the strong personalities of Austin and Rock were all that was holding me there
- I believe you can find my name in an OLD promoter where votes were taken for the 'best/worst of all time' in a bunch strange categories...Tom used a few of my quotes.
- Ex-military, Gulf war combat veteran, took my cards with me back in 91 to Iraq and played a bit during my six months over there
- Lost ALL my cards in a fire in 97-98, took me about 3 years before I came back to the game

Just a question for our two vets....do the other guys look at you weird when you were playing the game?

A few of the guys made some comments, but it wasn't really a big deal. I saw people playing Dungeons and Dragons and reading comic books, too.

The most time I got to play was after I was wounded (took shrapnel in my hip) and in recovery back in Saudi Arabia. I didn't actually take my cards for the first 4 months of the war because we were out in the field

My military experience taught me to always have something to read or a game nearby, because you always get into situations where you need to kill "down time" or, like Pride mentioned, escape from reality.
