Nah. With Swarm, it's easy enough to forget he's supposed to be an Ani-Man and just consider him a masked wrestler. I'm even okay with the mental control he has over the lower forms of life, but then, by the time I get to the current game editions, the supernatural will be playing a significant role in my fed, so it meshes well.

For the record, I treat Wolf the same way--he's just an Aethran defector, with no ties to Andromeda.

I really dislike the whole concept of the Ani-Men, though I realize I'm in the minority. If I eventually add a race of furries to my fed, it will probably be an all-cat one, like the Kilrathi from Wing Commander or the Mrrshan from MOO-2.

In retrospect, I'm stunned that I forgot to add Sectarian onto the list. Didn't like the wrestler, though the song is cool.

You know, that's the thing. I could never really put my finger on it, but for some reason, they never appealed to me. When I used them, I inevitably got bored with them, and eventually found one reason or another to shuffle them all the way to the bottom of the card, or out of my fed entirely. I think it's because I like a margianlly less "fantastic" GWF. Aliens, in my fed, are few and far between, and demand an exceptional story line. I replaced both Torpor and Mangus, as well, and will probably find someone to take Comrade Terror's spot when I get to that point.

Maybe it's the idea of a planet with nothing but animal hybrids of countless different species? Maybe I read Animal Farm once too often. Who can say?
