I've been looking up various forms of Japanese wrestling during slow periods at my job lately. After reading about Joshi (Japanese women's wrestling) I heard about Manami Toyota, who is said to be one of the finest Joshi wrestlers during her prime. She is said to have taken incredible amounts of punishment and painful spots during her career but rarely suffered a serious injury. The above link is an exciting and brutal match against Akira Hokuto, the inventor of the Northern Lights Bomb and Kensuke Sasaki's future wife, from September 1995 which I just wanted to share. It shows just how women wrestlers can beat the hell out of each other just as much as the men.

Yeah, Akira is not one to be messed with. She got in a singapore cane duel with Taru during a Kensuke Office/Voodoo Murders match in the Champions Carnival that was fun.

Hokuto is great. Probably my favorite Japanese woman wrestler after Bull Nakano.
