I was wondering if anybody on here had any information on Mr. Pogo's recent wrestling endevor, the hardcore WWS promotion.
It's kind of odd that this fed is called World Wing Spirit since Pogo was never affiliated with the old W*ING promotion.
I was just curious as to if there is an english websites with information on the promotion.
thanks.

Pogo always brings a sickle to the ring with him. Often heating it with a blowtorch and then attacking his opponent. the Pogo/Matsunaga Fire Death Matches are classics from the garabage genre. Also, anything that Atsushi Onita was involved in between 89-95 is usually pretty brutal.

Onita actually ran a garbage company from 89-95 called FMW, It was pretty popular and was a big influence on the ECW style. Thanks to FMW, companies like IWA Japan (no longer promotes death matches), W*ING (folded) and BJPW got started.
Onita actually got the idea for death matches from wrestling he had seen in Memphis. Another tidbit, Onita graduated from the AJPW dojo. So Onita wasn't a glorified stuntman, he actually had a strong technical background.
The garbage style began to lose popularity along with the FMW when Onita left the promotion in 1995. FMW has since folded ( in 2002) and the garbage style is a shadow of it's former self.
Onita I believe, still runs a small company called Onita pro. It's not a death match fed like FMW was though.
