...for those of you who might know? I was looking around youtube at some of the Great Muta's matches and once again I seem to have missed an era of wrestling. In this clip he is going by Keiji Mutoh (Which I knew about but never saw him wrestle as) and it looks like either he is copying A.J. Styles...or AJ copied him (Please tell me AJ did the stealing)

First off, I'm not quite sure what you're specifically talking about with the copying. I'm assuming it's the flipping kick (Pele Kick in TNA) or the hooded entrance.
Regardless of which it is, if there's a case of copying going on it's definitely AJ aping Muta. Especially because some of those clips are more than 10 years old.
A lot of those are Great Muta clips, the later, bald Muto's are indeed Keiji Muto, which is his real name. It's a pretty cool package that showcases most of Muto's main moveset (he can do a lot more, though). Also interesting to see because you can tell how his knees have just disentegrated over time in the newer clips. It's a testament to his toughness and talent that he can still wrestle much less do moonsaults (quite possible the most damaging move to one's knees.)
Take care ~Sam

Great Muta did the hood thing long before AJ....and the highlight video makes it fairly obvious that TGM was doing AJ's 'high end move set' years before there was ever a TNA.
LWPD (replicating 'cool moves' is not in itself a 'bad thing'...most everything in pro wres comes from somewhere...yet being able to expand upon that element and combine it with effective showmanship and a compelling stage presence that sells to the audience and gets people to ''care enough' to pay to watch in large numbers is no easy task...few were on The Great Muta's level in that regard...and AJ Styles is not even close)
