Everything is shaky at the moment in New Japan. Riki Choshu was offered and accepted the job. When the word got out today, a group of wrestlers (we don't have the names at the moment) are strongly working to get the deal nixed. This is very similar to the situation when Kevin Sullivan was announced as booker of WCW, but the difference is, if New Japan goes through with it, the wrestlers if they want to leave have nowhere to go to make anywhere close to the money they're making now.
Nobody knows at the moment how this is going to turn out.

I found this over @ W.O., but no mention of the All-Japan card or Brock winning the title. These guys that run that site sure come off as a bunch of pricks sometimes.

Couldn't some go to All Japan? I know New Japan is bigger but I have gotten the impression that All Japan is at least pretty close. This is kinda like WWE in some ways. If you are unhappy you have a choice of making less money and working the indie scene or keeping the job you don't like and keeping that same amount of money. Its money or happiness. Does anyone know why people don't like Choshu?

In current financial crisis All Japan, the only wrestlers who get paid are from the Leglock office (Muto, Kojima and Kaz Hayashi), freelancers (Kensuke and Nakajima) and the gaijins. Kohei Suwama might be the only other All Japan contracted wrestler to get paid decently since he is seen as their big prospect.
To show how little money the native wrestlers get, Rico was getting paid more than Toshiaki Kawada. That should be enough to see why Kawada went freelance.
NOAH could be an option, but the only problem is that NOAH has a big enough roster to where they run tag matches and six-man matches for most of the card on house shows and small TV tapings. They are only going to have to sign any possible ex-New Japan wrestlers to a certain number of shows. Misawa is not going to remove someone who has been on the NOAH roster for a while in favor of bringing in a few ex-NJ guys to big shows.
Choshu made some enemies the last time he booked for New Japan. Nishimura has legit heat with Choshu, as many felt that Choshu didn't push him due to him looking a little too much like Antonio Inoki. Tenzan was another guy who Choshu pushed in the mid-1990's to a future main event then Tenzan became a fall guy for other wrestlers who Choshu had wanted to push.

I see. I find it kind of hard to really keep up on Japanese wrestling that well.

It seems All Japan is also using a few former WWE stars with successful results.
Team 3-D (formerly Dudley's), Giant Bernard (formerly Albert), Buchanon (formerly Bull Buchanon) TAKA Michinoku, Jamal (from 3 Minute Warning), Kaz Hayashi (WCW) and D-Lo Brown are all on the tour currently going on. Also, Chuck Palumbo and Johnny Stamboli are also listed on the roster.
Glad to see Ray and D-Von doing well on their own...

Sometimes Japanese team/group names are cool sounding (Control Terrorist Unit)...and sometimes...not...
