Hey guys .... Monolith just debuted for me. Continuing the streaks of most "top notch" guys when they debut, Monolith was not just beaten but pinned in the center of the ring!!! Chaos, Pegasus, Mandrill, Disaster and Endgame all lost there first matches (Chaos is now just coming into his own and it's why I am not retiring him just yet). The worst of these stories was bum Ursa Major upsetting the Matador of M 83 not once but twice (though Ursa Major was always a very tough wrestler in my fed, the titans sucked though Pit Viper was my first champ and Scion is right now on fire).
But anyway, this happens a lot in my federation. The new "next big thing" always gets snapped upon arrival and it takes them the rest of the year to get I would say "confidence" back but there not real (calm down She Devil, yes you are real sweetheart). As another example, Endgame and Disaster literally are just starting to put together strings of wins. Disaster is #16 in the galaxy and Endgame is #17 ranked superstars in the galaxy and it's easily the highest they have ever been ranked in my federation.
Anyone have any solutions on building up "next big things" ???Was it a dumb idea to match up Monolith against Cyclopes? I thought it would be neat and get Monolith starting in the right direction, but guess not now that Monolith is 0-1.

In the long run, 1 loss in the GWF doesn't matter. Anyone can beat anyone at any given time...but more often than not the big guns will get their wins. Use the unexpected losses to build up your storylines.

I know what your saying but so many guys get down ... I mean when I first got Chaos I think in 1995 he lost his first 20 matches. M 83 just got owned his first year.

Endgame, Disaster, Havoc/Paralyze and Monolith have all had pretty poor records in my fed so far. Endgame's on a comeback, though.

Something to look at is who you put them against in their first match.
Every guy has a way to lose so if you want to build up a "next big thing" I would put him against a guy who isn't really in his league.
I cannot see how Chaos lost 20 matches in a row. That is crazy.

Are you sure yer playing the game right? I don't even think this is statistically possible. Chaos couldn't lose 20 matches in a row to Destructon 3000, much less a normal roster.

Chaos in two weeks for me lost to every member of the Fighting Titans.....3 times to Ursa Major (this was his 2099 card) 3 times to Rising Sun, 2 times to DragonMaster 1 time to Scion Nexus and 1 time to Talon

Chaos started horribly for me - I did something similiar to Tom's and had him come in gunning for Thantos. Thantos stopped him, so I moved him down to Massif. Massif OWNED him so then I had him feud with Star Warrior. Of course this is when Star Warrior decides he wants to surge one last time and takes down Chaos. I turned Heracles on Chaos in hopes to make Heracles a bigger heel and that it was turned around Chaos as those two had a nice feud. Chaos then demolished Alpha Force and rose after that.
My fed is strangely dominated by those quiet really good cards ... Killer Queen, Vengeance, Massif ... etc.

I really didn't think Wraith was going to lose ... since I found time to play again, Wraith is doing ok. Currently ranked #09 in the Galaxy. Vengeance is #01 and I think going to be the first person to nab two titles.

With 2 cards left in my first year here are how things stand in my "unique" fed:
Monolith: (ranked #9) 22-13 record Chaos: (ranked #5) 26-8 record Payback: (ranked #32) 3-13 record Disaster: (ranked #19) 12-11 record Star Warrior: (ranked #14) 16-12 record Endgame: (ranked #18) 10-8 record
all the while...Nosfera (ranked #1) 22-5 record & Universal Champion has owned every one of them at one time or another in the year.
As for the booking end of things...I would feed the "next big thing" the undercard guys..or guys like Payback, Epoch or Kill Prey (3 of the bottom guys in my fed) and let them get beat around for a couple weeks in a mini-feud until the future superstar gets a nice string of victories and a little back-story and begins moving up the ladder...where you repeat the same against 3 more guys up the ladder...and continue until you find the point where he/she is really tested by a trio..and then you take a half step down the ladder again and leave him/her there for a while. When the star is ready to climb again, you will know.

Eliath I think we play somewhat similiar ... I play in "real time" so to speak where I just play 100 years from today so 2107 and I just add guys when I get them, with my own or something similiar storyline. Pegasus, Heracles and Grunge came into my fed as a triple threat to eliminate Star Warrior and all came in and pretty much OWNED Warrior and pretty much ended Alpha Force. I ended up throwing Force at Warrior and Warrior ended Force for me. Force ended his career with one IP title reign but nothing major.

Though we may have a new star ... VENGEANCE right now is making a play for the hall of fame for me. I started back up with a storyline basically with Massif forming one big wrestling federation with a wrestling union and no Colby or Cordanus. Vengeance became the first person to ever win MegaTournament twice for me.
Tonight he just bloodied Jack of Diamonds threw him over the top rope when Draconian Shiek cashed in his title shot. Vengeance said fine and bloodied him, threw him over the top rope and called out anyone else in the back but the show ended with that instead of some other punk getting sent home on a stretcher.
Though in a side note ... I just debuted the new Paralyze card (I just got the last edition) and for the first time PARALYZES someone!!! He never was able to with his old card but all of a sudden with this one. I am kind of crying though as I just lost Nero for 12 weeks!!!

Those big losses create a good opportunity. While Monolith was Koed by Valour in his debut, Mobolith has recovered. He has had trouble toppling the champion and holding on.
More recently I did an OFC tournament for the OFC title. I had my early favorites, and I had added a few guys that "had no contracts" into the mix to fill up spcae. Well the finals came around, and it was Euritar (who was on a tear in my fed, dominating everyone) against Pendakar ( who was a fill in ). Much to my chagrin, Pendakar won a fairly lopsided decision.
So now I have to get things going and develop story around that.
You should use this crucial point to do the same.
