In my most recent, restarted fed, there haven't been too many shocking champions yet, except Death Knight defeated Lord Nexus for the TV Title. it's still only 2087, though.
however, years and years ago, when I played every day, Death's Head (who was also one of my favorites) was undefeated when he debuted...winning his first 20 matches. I then gave him a title shot against then-champion Matador of M83. He easily defeated the Matador, and went on to hold the belt for 15 fight cards, with 6 title defenses. He ended up losing the belt to Alpha Force, which was also his first loss. He had, without a doubt, the most impressive debut in my old fed's history, winning his first 29 matches.

Dreadnaught Death Card...Hardcore Champion and J.J. Smooth Interstellar Champ are my two biggest unlikely champs.

Pulsar and Terak winning the I-G tag titles from the Blood Brothers. They held the titles for 6 defences and lost all be countout. They finally fell to Powerhouse.

In my original fed Pulsar Prime won the GWF title from Thantos. While Pulsar Prime was pretty awesome, and a character I loved, at that time NOBODY was beating Thantos for the title for me.
In my New Beginnings fed Steele Freak beating Bloodline for the GWF Title has to be right there at the top.

Steel Freak and his year and a half Galaxian Tile reign. Beating EVERYONE put in front of him , from Disater to Kill Prey to Bloodline and Encubus. It was incredible.

Antak, in '05, ran a serious winning streak all the way to beating Disaster for my top title. It was one of those cases where I just could not believe the dice. It wasn't just some fluke win over one guy. He actually beat some contenders in a row, then got his shot. He hasn't done much since, but the Antak in my fed can always claim to be a legit champion.

Death's Head debuted pretty strong for me too, actually. He won my Hardcore belt within his first few months. I seem to remember him going something like 15-4 before he started to go downhill. My most surprising GWF champ was probably Mutant, although he lost it on the next card. Since I give a 'Champion's Advantage' (champ has to be pinned twice), it makes it much harder to get fluke wins for my main belt...and that's the way I like it.

Mutant also held the Galaxian title for me, beating Mensar for the big belt. Mutant retired the champion the night after. He had built up a Mick Foley-esk fan following in the months leading up to his big win. I was sad to see him retire, but it was a fitting end to his career.
Some other suprising champions in my fed have been: Pollux (battle royal for the big belt) and Dreadnaught death card as the Hardcore champ.

Surprising to me is Galactic Punisher holding the tag team title with D-13(booter)....he was brought in as a last minute replacement and right out of the box has gold...The Executioner holding the Terran System title was a bit of a shocker also

Deaths Head COULD very well be the most underrated card in champions of the galaxy history ... I still use him because his card is so awesome. He is marching his way to another title shot as we speak ...
