Tom has often mentioned The Sheik's Detroit based promotion as an early source of inspiration. Ed Farhat Jr is continuing his father The Sheik's mid west wrestling tradition with his All World Wrestling League. The website is at bigtimewrestling.org
In addition to covering the promotion and its' current roster, the site features a nice tribute page for the "original" Sheik.
Fans in Ohio should make it a point to be at their show in Kettering next month.

I used to hang out with a kid with the last name Farhat. He used to live right down the street from me. His father owned a dealership in town.
I wonder if there is any relation.

There is a link up at bigtimewrestling.org to an interview with Ed Farhat Jr conducted by Evan Ginzberg. Sheldon Goldberg is also interviewed. It is an interesting look into pro wrestling.

bigtime was also linked to Maple Leaf Wrestling Frank Tunney era, (before the Mcmahon buyout) out of Toronto and was practically Sheik's home away from home. mapleleafwrestling.4t.com/index.html
