Interesting two part article of "Canon's" of wrestling www.411mania.com/wrestling/columns/39752/MeeThinks-4.17.06:-A-Glossary-Exclusive-Spectacular!-(Page-1-of-2).htm An example... "When a wrestler has a pummeled opponent in the corner of the ring, the wrestler will get up on the bottom (or second rope if he's a midget wrestler) and pummel the opponent with 10 closed fisted punches, so the crowd can count the punches. He will normally stop at ten, but even if the wrestler stops pummeling his opponent at, say, "8" or "9" punches, the crowd must always complete the count to the number "10" just the same."Graymar

I want to try and run a show one night where I try to break as many of these as I can. Until then, what others can everyone come up with? Here are a few of mine:
Face Weakness in Tag Match Rule- In Tag team matches, one of the faces is surrounded by a field that almost completely saps his strength, thereby leaving him open to a 5-minute beat-down that both he and his partner are powerless to prevent. If the face gets an adrenaline rush (even if he's Hulk Hogan) and even manages to floor the heel with his finisher, it will only last for a few seconds, and he'll collapse again. However, once the face performs a "hot tag," the field is gone, and the face will completely recover, no matter how badly he's beaten.
Heels' Lawyers- Nearly every heel as remarkable lawyers which give them huge advantages over faces. Here are some of them.
1. When a gang of heels attack a face, security/officials can never physically restrain the heels. They can only warn them verbally. However, if the face fights back out of self preservation, the officials must immediately protect the heel by restraining the face by all means.
2. Heels can freely admit to any crimes, including breaking and entering, animal cruelty, and kidnapping, and they don't even get a slap on the wrist. However, faces can be arrested for running to the ring to save an ally.
3. If a face accuses a heel of concealing a weapon, the referee must take the heel at his word, even if said weapon is hidden clearly behind the heel's back. However, if the heel accuses the face of hiding a 50-weapon arsenal in his speedos, the referee must perform a complete search. Referees also believe that a a face has pulled on a heel's buzz-cut.
(Steve Austin is the exception, for he can destroy vehicles and property at will; yet he gets arrested for walking onto an entrance ramp.)
Ric Flair syndrome- Ric Flair is the strongest man in the world, and even at 57, he can floor men twice his size with a simple open-hand chop.
Take care,
Jay
