Deus thinks Sting is better. While I loved pre-crow Sting I don't think it is close.
What do you think??

Prime to prime, I think they are pretty even.....current status: HBK is still a great performer and Sting is a bit lumbering and slow.
But factoring in personality and personal preference, I have always loved the Stinger and he's still a major reason I still watch TNA. So I'll vote for him.

I have trouble with these type of polls because I need them defined more: Who's better - Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair? There are different angles to look at.

I don't think it does because HBK is better in the ring and on the mic. On the other hand Ric Flair was the better worker but Hogan was the bigger draw. Speaking of Flair. He is the only one who is in any Sting match that could compare to HBK's top ten matches.

Havoc can correct me if he wishes, but in the context of the discussion, its pretty much "Who has a bigger Wrestling Legacy?" or prehaps "who would be higher on the all-time great list"..
As I said over there, I'm not a big Sting fan., but I'm not a big HBK fan either (I liked DX better with the New Age Outlaws.. yeah, I'm that one guy)
That said, I've seem far more good HBK matches than good Sting matches, so I'm gonna go with him.

In 97, Sting was #2 in merch. sales behind Steve Austin. Had he been in the WWE, I think Sting would have been a bigger draw than Michaels - easy. Nor do agree so definitively that Michaels is better on the mic...he gets more varied material to work with because he's played a heel, he's played a tweener, and he's played a 'smartass' face. Sting generally has to play a straight-forward face - which is harder to do and get over at the same time in the last 10-15 years. I just think Sting has way more natural charisma than Michaels.

Well, I hate the guy but Michaels is amazing inside the ring. I guess I go with him.

He did this by choice because being Mr Chrisitian he refused to turn heel with the exception of the one week heel turn on Goldberg. If he had stayed with the original Stinger I think this could've been closer but the Crow thing was stupid. He would've got such a huge pop if he would've come back with the old Sting look.

In a matter of taste I like Sting better in the ring, mic skills I think just barely go to HBK.
I picked Sting but this is a close poll, I like Sting better. But here are the two best points by the opposition
PAYBACK brought up in another topic he never went to the WWF at any point which hurts his standing. He won't ever go and I think thats why in a lot of peoples minds HBK will win this vote.
Second, Havoc brings up an awesome point about HBK has all these amazing matches. Who does Sting have besides Flair?
HBK will win this poll, I see why, but I think Sting in a perfect world is better and would win. BUT we live in our world and Sting will never go to WWF. Shawn wouldn't leave. The only way we're seeing this match is if the church does some promotional thing and they volunteer.

The only way we're seeing this match is if the church does some promotional thing and they volunteer. They could do it in a fundraiser with DiBiase's christian wresling organization.

Well Sting was never in the WWF/E and HBK Main Evented WM multiple times so this is a no brainer.
Every guy who has ever Main Evented a WM is better than Sting. That's just a fact.

The one exception would be LT because he was not a full time wrestler.
Fact: Bam Bam Bigelow made it farther in this business than Sting by Main Eventing one of only 24 WrestleMania's.
So yes. He is way better.

HBK by far.
And yes, Bam Bam is better because he main evented the biggest wrestling PPV there is.

By standards as if we were to talk about HOF Bam Bam Bigelow is way better than Sting. Main Eventing WM is the Holy Grail of wrestling...
Sting coasted along in WCW for years and never proved himself on the grandest stage of them all...
I'm not going to bash anyone who thinks otherwise but WCW was (aside from 1 1/2 years) always number two behind the WWF/E...
How can the best guy at the number two company who Vince eventually bought, who now wrestles for frigging TNA, be better than a guy who Main Evented Wrestlemania?
He can't be. These are facts people.

What? C'mon, now you're being silly...you get to just declare facts?? Ric Flair was also the best guy at the #2 company. Ric Flair never main-evented WM. Sgt. Slaughter is now better than Ric Flair because he main-evented in WM. Ok. Sure. PS: Sting also coasted along to being #2 for several years also. Heck, he nearly outsold Austin in 1997. That tells me that if he'd come to the WWF he'd have been unbelievably huge. Finally, I bet if I asked Vince McMahon who he'd want more - it'd be Sting over (laugh) Bam Bam Bigelow. Vince was still making MULTIPLE offers to Sting before he returned to TNA this last time. Now I've heard tell Vince is a genius...yet Vince would kill to get Sting. Hmmm..... THAT'S a fact...since we're just declaring our own facts now.

By that logic, all of the following people are better than Ric Flair:
Hulk Hogan Mr. T Roddy Piper Paul Orndorff King Kong Bundy Andre the Giant Randy Savage Ted DiBiase The Ultimate Warrior Sgt. Slaughter Sid Justice Yokozuna Bret Hart Lawrence Taylor Bam Bam Bigelow Shawn Michaels The Undertaker Steve Austin The Rock Triple H The Big Show Mick Foley Chris Jericho Brock Lesnar Kurt Angle Chris Benoit Batista John Cena
I think I threw up in my mouth when I got to Sid.
