From a ‘character’ standpoint I really like Rage. I love his ‘look’ and his art and the Aethran shootfighter schtick is awesome. The problem is his stats are simply not up to Gladiator standards in my opinion. He’s probably the worst Aethran since Thunder’s original 2095 card, but Thunder was obviously a work in progress at the time. Rage - combined with Paralyze’s slight downgrade - made for the worst performance by a Gladiator tag team in my fed’s history by a mile. Sure they had some problems with Havoc, but they’ve clearly sacrificed great talent for solid loyalty in this case and Rage’s stats are so crappy (for a Glad) that it makes them look kinda desperate.

People- when has Tom ever made an out and out crappy Aethran?
Sure he is not the strongest now, but he will be trust me.
He was a last minute replacement for a guy who was supposed to be there.
Sure I am biased, but Rage is gonna be more awesome than he is now.
And a 5 (2) PIN, B, B,A A on charts, -1 ag/pw and 2 level 2 turnarounds on L2D are not shabby by any means.

Sure I am biased, but Rage is gonna be more awesome than he is now. And a 5 (2) PIN, B, B,A A on charts, -1 ag/pw and 2 level 2 turnarounds on L2D are not shabby by any means. Don't have the card in front of me, but a 5 (2) pin with 3 down-3s is pretty darn crappy. Like I said, I like the character so I hope he does get an upgrade, but for now (and since Thunder was originally only brought in as a bodyguard) Rage is the worst 'starting' Gladiator that we've had in my opinion. |

Thunder took a while to step forward (his 2099 card was nice but nothing to write home about) H and P have bene my tag champs for a while now (till I took my vacation)....so I guess they're doing all right in some feds

I think the Glads are supposed to be struggling right now, similar to when WAR arrived and caught them off-guard during Sudden Death (which by the way, paved the road for MAYHEM to become possibly the most controversial Gladiator ever). The Gladiators have fielded a GWF team for nearly 40 years, with really only 2 major setbacks, one which was to THEMSELVES. How long can they stay on top uninterrupted? The MASTER RACE/PLANNER angle is great, because a team is finally showing that they will try to outthink the Glads long-term. This angle can take so many twists and turns, as the Glads can be kept on their heels for a prolonged period of time. How will SPIKE respond to the next move? What Gladiators are working against their race? Are any Gladiators working against their race? There are just so many possibilities.

I'm in the camp that likes Rage as a character but so far he has done not a thing for me. Even tho the Gladiators feuded with both DWF and the Master Race, they didn't win the titles this year.

Worst ever ? My favourite was Mayhem . But when you look at his record , how many titles did he win ? often ended up Dq etc . I think Mayhem was poor compared to others like Spike , Thunder , Disaster etc

Rahl's rating puts him at 19(40) - a godawful singles wrestler and above average tag wrestler = fairly crappy overall.

I will certainly concede the poor singles- but he is better than average for the current crop of tag wrestlers now. While he does not compare to the other legendary Gladiator tag team members, he will. Eventually. |

I actually really like him. He was a great I-P Champion for me and had an awesome feud with Panther Warrior for that belt in 2121.
If you use the ch charts he really is kind of solid.

I give Tom kudos for coming up with a unique Gladiator even after all these years and after so many Gladiators. Rage is cool. And he'll only get better.

He's not supposed to be Spike, or Thunder.
That's the whole point of his character. If every Gladiator was exactly the same, it would get boring.
He's still really good. He's just a tag specialist.

Rage has not done anything in my fed. Its kinda bad because I like to push the Glads but they really dont deserve any help from me. The Master Race has slapped them around something fierce in my 2021.

I like Rage, as I mentioned earlier....but I do have to say that Rage & Paralyze are probably the least successful Gladiator tag-team that I can remember. They won my titles right away when Rage joined the GWF, but have been losing a lot more than winning, in general.
