I went with CM Punk (although I'd probably be happiest if a Fit Finlay won it).....Punk's got a world of potential and it sure seems to be stagnating in ECW. They need to move him out of it.

Went with Carlito as well. Punk will be in the match, but I don't see him winning just yet.
BTW, isn't this just the 3rd MITB match? Edge and RVD are the only winners I remember.

True. But RVD defended the MITB vs. Shelton Benjamin in a non-ladders, tables and chairs match in MITB 3 on some PPV last year.
So this is the 4th one.

It's not surprising to see the Punk love but if he continues to be a tool backstage I will love every minute of him being buried by Arn and Findlay.

If you want to see just how skilled CM Punk is on the mic you need to check out his work in ROH. His mic skills are actually the best part of the CM Punk package. Check out his promo on Raven at Wrestlerave, for one of many examples.

To clarify my preceding post, I was in no way knocking Punk's in ring skills. I am a huge fan of his work in the ring, particularly his series with Samoa Joe, his match with Austin Aries for the ROH title, and countless others. My point is that as good as his in ring work is, his mic skills are arguably even better.
For fun, I found a transcript of the aforementioned Wrestlerave promo, but it is obviously missing something without his great delivery. For the record he is addressing Raven leading up to a match at the next show, and he is covered in his own blood when giving this promo. Great stuff.
