Hot Rod himself. No villain could match Piper in the 80s, not even Flair.

Flair just brought villainy to new levels. Equal to the best on the mics if not better and the ringmanship to back it up.

I'll go Piper, too, but boy, that's a toughie. Greg Valentine should be in there just for sheer personal reprehensibility.

Gotta go with Hot Rod.
When he shaved The Haiti Kid's hair to look like Mr. T, I was appalled (of course I was about 10 yrs old, but still). ;D

Good candidates would also have been Vince McMahon and the Rock when he was a heel.

Flair..he's the guy I most wanted to see get his butt kicked when I was younger so that makes him #1 in my eyes

I voted Flair. No question about it. Hollywood Hogan is a close second.

Watching Flair in the later stages of Georgia Championship Wrestling, and then on to the WCW, makes the only real choice for me.
Second would have to be Piper/

From an objective point of view it would have to be Flair....
But for me as a kid, one of my earliest wrestling memories was seeing Jimmy Snuka take that coconut to the skull from Piper. That to me was just the meanest thing ever. I wanted Piper to get his butt kicked SO bad after that one. And to this day I've hated Piper's character, even if he was playing the face. (though I do like him as a performer).

the Internet, it (IMO) tore down the the wall that kept us in suspense every week for "What will happen next" and "Wow, that guy is from the WWF" Sometimes looking at things through kids glasses is the best.

Back in the day if you subscribed to the Torch, you knew what was happening. So I cant say the 'net was a villian.
For me it was Piper hands down, while Flair was a stuck-up conceited typeof heel, Piper was just vicious, i rooted for him in his bouts with Hogan in '85 and he was just downright funny to listen to. Hope he Tombstones cancer!

Flair. I HATED him and the Four Horsemen with a PASSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even today, when Rated RKO beat up Flair, my first thought was "What goes around comes around! That's what you get for all the times you and the Horsemen did the same thing to Dusty Rhodes".
