In your opinion who's the best on the mic when they get the stage all to themselves?
For me I'll go with Arn Anderson, followed by Mick Foley and Bobby Heenan.

Love AA, Jake was great and Foley is good when not shilling his books

back in the day Roberts could give some chilling promos... he still may be able to if you have enough rock to give him... ok, ok... that was so wrong of me...

Flair and Piper were great back in their prime, although both have slipped in recent years. No one ever made me laugh like the Rock.
But in terms of some great promos that really made me believe that some butt was gonna be kicked, it has to be Arn Anderson when he was with the Horsemen. He was awesome!

I'm going to be a contrarian and say the Ultimate Warrior. He never failed to give me material to puzzle over!

I'd have voted for the snake, but. . . -Jake Roberts, October 10, 1999. Heroes of Wrestling ruined Jake Roberts for me. So I voted for Arn.

Easily the Rock. No one could singlehandedly humiliate people the way he did. Whether it was Vince, Steph, HHH, Big Show, Coach or even kevin Kelly, he was so friggin hilarious! Cena is a close second, followed by Hogan.

Wow, that's a lot of poll options! I don't think I could choose just one; different guys had different strengths, and were active at different times. Rock, AA, and Jericho would be the top three, but there's no way I could put them in any order beyond that.

On Monday night, Flair proved that he's still one of the best, but he tends to repeat himself a lot from promo to promo.
The Rock tops them all though. His improvisational skills are only God-given. He's got a gift from above when it comes to mic work.
In the past year, Triple H has gotten a lot of laughs with his breaking character moments.

It's gotta be The Rock. His best stuff is when he'd take Cole or Coach and grab the mic, push them out of the frame, and then go off on whatever he was talking about.
Rock = best mic guy, ever.

This was tough for me.
I loved Austin on the mic, but most of the time, his promos were when he interacted with others. Little solo work (except for the first 'Austin 3:16' promo).
I like Rock, but a lot of times, he just talked about shoving things up people's rear ends.
Triple H was great when he was dead serious and ticked off.
I loved just about anything Foley did back in the days (except the amnesia angle, but that wasn't his fault).
I rarely watched Anderson's promos because I hated the Horsemen. Don't get me wrong, I respected Anderson's and Blanchard's wrestling ability. I just got so sick of seeing the same matches over and over again (Horsemen get slaughtered but keep the belts). When any Horsemen got on TV, I often changed the channel.
With Flair, my friends and I would spend his entire promo counting how many times his face changed colors.
Hulk Hogan was...nevermind.
I decided to go with Foley, since I watched his promos the most, and he gave some great ones, even in ECW where most wrestlers rambled on and on aimlessly.
Take care,
Jay

Man, I had to go with Flair. His consistently great promos are almost unmatched and he still has it.

Man, I had to go with Flair. His consistently great promos are almost unmatched and he still has it. I disagree, he just yells a lot. Always did. He's entertaining for sure, but The Rock was the best because he'd go from being intense, to being hilarious, and then just dissing guys. Awesome.
