If, by ECW wrestler, you mean the more hardcore style, then definitely not.
But Flair could've put on some beautiful matches with Malenko, Jericho, Eddie, Benoit, and 2 Cold Scorpio.

I might have to disagree on this one. Granted he is up there in age but he has shown he can take alot of punishment. I think in the right spots he could be an effective ECW wrestler by putting others over. He still knows how to 'work'.
Of course, I wouldn't put Flair in certain matches with certain wrestlers. For example, in a barbed wire match with Sabu and if you did, Flair would have to be protected due to his age. However, by all accounts I've read and I've haven't seen the new ECW shows due to the fact, I'm in the ME, this ECW is not the ECW of old. The Flair name still generates a 'pop' from audiences. So, yes, I think Flair could be a valuable member of ECW.
Now I should say that 'hardcore' to me is no dq's, using chairs, Singapore canes, etc. and a barbed wire match would fall under 'garbage' wrestling and should only be used to end feuds.
Then again, it could be that I'm a huge Ric Flair mark and have been since the mid 80s.

Back in the day, Ric could have been in any federation. Now, not so much. Hardcore once in a while, not every match.

However, I feel he'll be the ECW Champ. It seems handed to him...

Thats tough to say. It's just wierd to me because he dosnt seem like the type to win it.

I think they'l let him win it just so he can say he was NWA/WCW/WWF(E) AND ECW Champ. No one in history will ever be able to do that.

I think he's a better fit now than he would have been 10 years ago.

He might fit into the new Midcore ECW, but he's still fits better on RAW or Smackdown.

I think he fits just as well into the new ecw brand as Big Show or Test. Plus, how much would a Flair ECW title reign put salt in Shane Douglas' cereal?

Please don't give Vinnie any ideas. I'm scared the guys going to die in the ring one day or he's the greatest actor in the ring.

Ric Flair is a good fit for what this WWE version of ECW is....but would probably be most effective with sporadic 'impulse' appearances as opposed to being a permanent part of the roster. He still has a name that the paying audience reacts to and even at his age is more than capable of working the 'garbage match/extreme rules' style when called upon. I remember being shocked at how good his non-formula match with Angle was...not to mention his performance in the ladder match with Edge...and truth be told he held up his end reasonably well in both.
I'd also give him props for his role in helping to score a 2.4 rating this week while carrying the final quarter....and with the exception of a few I highly doubt that many of the younger guys on the WWE roster could have scored as well or better working the final segment with TBS.
LWPD (back in the day Todd Gordon or Paul Heyman would have loved to have had the opportunity to bring RF into any era of ECW for a one shot...let alone for an extended stay...the 'hardcore' fans in the markets they ran would have eaten a Nature Boy appearance up...and there's no doubt in my mind Flair would have found a way to make it work and would given them more than their money's worth)

I agree. Sandman beating the hell out of Ric with with a kendo stick. Flair would sell it like crazy!
