Still. Plus/minus three years isn't a huge deal once you're firmly in the 25-65 range. 16, 18, 21, 25, and 65 are the only legally-relevant ages I can think of unless we start talking about politics (in the US, anyway).

I think three years can be a big deal when you are talking about the "shelf life" of an athlete. Would you rather have Bonds in 2006 or 2003. (Okay maybe nobody wants Bonds...ever...bad example.) Graymar

As Casey Stengal once said of the future of a 22 year old Ron Swoboda (or was it Art Shamsky)...in 8 years the guy has a chance to be 30! ;D Graymar

On one hand, Batista doesn't have the YEARS of wear and tear that an Undertaker or Triple H does...on the other hand, he's proven to be injury prone in the past.
Of course, a whole lot of injuries can be protected with careful booking, too. Batista was going to work through his...lat injury, right? Then his tricep tore again and WWE made him take the time off. Or was it the other way around?

Graymar Except that it's not sports, it's wrestling. The athleticism might vary somewhat in three years, but its still a work and as long as a 37-40 year old Batista isn't overexposed in the minds of the fans and he can still work a match - which shouldn't be a problem because he's a power wrestler with a fairly simple move-set- - then his age isn't really an issue. And I think you would have to be incredibly naive to believe that he's injury prone simply because of his age.

Well, things just wont get easier for him haha
It's easier to look at Orton and say he will hold the belt more than Batista because of a very early vs a moderately late start as a main eventer.

Chris...you missed a couple...Michaels '65; Holly '63 Sandman was in '63 Graymar HBK was on there. I skipped Holly because I don't think he'll be coming back (I forget why he's out, but I remember that it's not good). I figured Sandman had to be in that grouping; thanks for the info on that.

But look at Renee Dupree. He came in very young and a lot of people said he had everything ti would take to become a star and he was gettinga fairly strong singles push on SD and he was only 21. Where is he now? If the fans get sick of Orton, or the WWE kills his heat, or if his personal issues overwhelm his talent, being in his early 20s won't save him. Wth Batista it just seems that as long as he stays somewhat healthey, he's going to be on the top of the business for the next five years or so. A five or six year run as one of the top faces of the WWE, headlining PPVs, headlining Wrestlemanias, and being the face of SD is a decent career at any age.

I think I'm in 100% agreement with PH on this whole thread.
If you had said CENA would hold the belt more than Batista, I would agree. In the end, barring something happening, Cena will wind up with a bigger legend than Batista. Orton, on the other hand, is as likely to shoot himself as the foot as anything.
Of course, none of this is accounting for things like one of the guys wrapping their car around a pole and ending what could have been a main event career WAY too early, ala Magnum T.A...
