wow, as of this post not one person has given anything resembling an approval rating for Randy Orton.
I had completely forgotten his annoying entrance music for a while too, until they started advertising it on the new Wreckless Intent CD. Bastards.
Admin Edit: Eh, that one should definitely have been censored; it's that useage of the word that we wanted to filter out, after all.

sorry about that. I'll keep in mind not to rely on the swear filter and refrain from using that one in the future!

A little bit. His annoying entrance aside, he was a former World Champ and a pretty good heel.
A pretty good wrestler and when they had him with "Cowboy" Bob Orton again, I thought he was good.
The WWE needs him or someone like him to add some more excitement. If any wrestler beats him, that's a good victory for that wrestler.

well, it sounds like WWE is rushing to bring him back as soon as his "60-day minimum" suspension is up. With Angle questionable, JBL, Benoit, and Batista out, and with Undertaker only wrestling part time, there aren't a whole lot of viable names at the top. That's also not to mention that Rey Mysterio supposedly has some nagging injuries that he should be taking time off for as well.
If Rey takes time off, I'd much rather see Randy Orton as champion than either Mark Henry or the Great Khali at this point. A returning Ken Kennedy isn't quite ready for that kind of push yet either.
And Orton is a pretty good heel. He's great at getting under people's nerves, which he's also apparently really good at doing in real life too.

He's also great at making me fast-forward. He's only marginally better than Masters on the mic, only has one expression, EASILY the deadest, most soulless eyes in the business, and is only carryable in the ring.

Nada. I didn't miss him and wouldn't miss him if the WWE never used him again.

It seems the consensus that you guys hate Orton. I always loved that in a wrestler. Of course I miss Randy, but then again I'm probally his biggest fan in this group. I know many don't like him based on real life characteristics and past actions but I try not to cross the wrestling/real life line or else I probally woulnd't like him either. Not to say that anyone that does mix the two is wrong for doing so. Can't wait for the legend killers return. RKO

It seems the consensus that you guys hate Orton. I don't actively hate him (in the ring... behind the scens is another matter), but he easily has one of the lowest "potential-to-actual" ratios of any guy on the roster. He's got everything he needs to be a top-tier guy, except apparently the motivation to actually do so. It's frustrating, and if he's gonna slack that badly, then I'd rather watch someone like Gunner Scott, who clearly wants to succeed. In the end, it's probaby the difference between earning your spot and having it (and most other things in your life) handed to you.

I agree being a 3rd generation wrestler that it easily takes away from how much you have to pay dues and earn your spot but in all the Orton matches I've seen I don't see the lack of motivation, maybe I'm just enjoying watching him RKO everybody too much to notice though. He's just always clicked w/ me. Both being originally from St. Louis I guess I'm biased w/ the hometown wrestler thing too.

It's a shame with guys having all the talent yet throwing it away. I bet there are guys on SD that just cringe that they bust their butt and never have anything to show (how many of those can you pick?!) and see Orton, a guy with numerous chances and everything...

I don't blame the WWE for suspending Orton...and I'm sure he really is a first class jerk...but the guy is a great 'cocky' heel who has the look, skills, name and 'personality' to be a top guy again...and for a long, long time. He just has to humble himself a little and leave the massive ego at the arena.
