I was also curious as to what you guys think is the worst Wrestlemania of all time. Unfortunatly, I think Wrestlemania 9- which took place here in Las Vegas- is the worst Wrestlemania so far. Although there were some ok matches such as the Headshrinkers versus the Steiners, overall I just thought Wrestlemania 9 simply wasn't very good.

WrestleMania 9 sucked for the most part... but nothing in my mind compares with the horrid WrestleMania XI. The main event was Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Lawrence Taylor.... the WWF title match was between Shawn Michaels and Diesel. Terrible.

I hated WM 9! The only match I enjoyed was the Steiners/Headshrinkers match. Gah horrible from the get go, it hurt watching this WM.

Come on ! . How can there be a bad Wrestlemania ? . Okay you didn't like some matches (including main events) . There must of been some matches that you did like watching . Without watching them all again . I could not put my finger on one WM as been bad .

As I recall 9 had some pretty decent matches. Tatanka vs. Shawn Michaels, Steiners vs. Headshrinkers, and Bret vs. Yokozuna wasn't that bad. It unfortunately will always reek due to all of Hulk Hogan's involvement.

I'll have to go with the majority here, as I also think Wrestlemania IX was the worst one. It had some intriguing matchups, but the way they were worked just seemed a little off. The only match from this Wrestlemania that I felt lived up to my expectations...uninformed as they may be...was the Steiners and the Headshrinkers. Although, just about any match that has a member of the Island boys in it, I'm likely to love. And, I loved the Doink/Crush match...just because of the ending and the two Doinks.
Peace.

wasnt this the mania that macho man punched out hogan the day before? i remember his eye being messed up. His eye was messed up, but I never knew the real reason. I remember somebody saying that he had been in an accident. And Macho Man said during the introduction, "It had to be a cheap shot..." so I don't think it was Macho Man. I do know that the way the IRS and Million Dollar Man used the injury was pretty cool. Saying that they arranged the 'accident'. Wrestlemania 9 had its moments, definitely...but it had more bad than good. ~Trav

Before the incident he was flying home from England and said he was drinking. Aparrently, he hit a big wave and one of the ski's hit him in the eye,and broke his orbital sockit. In his book he wrote "...The funny thing is there's a rumor that I didn't get hurt in a jet skiing accident after all - that I got punched in a bar by Randy Savage. Brother I wish. Getting hit in a bar would have been a lot easier than getting slammed in the face with a seven-hundred pound jet-ski" For all you Wrestlemania IX and Hogan haters out there, give the man some credit! By the way, my least favorite wrestlemania was XX. The only thing that made it bareable was Benoit winning the belt, other than that, it sucked!

As canadianpittbull and Travis said, just because I did not like Wrestlemania 9 that much does not mean I don't like Hogan because I do. In fact I'm probably going to buy his anthology. I just thought the matches overall were not as great compared to the other Wrestlemanias (I'm really being objective because I live in Las Vegas where Wrestlemania 9 took place) and, as I said in another thread, I did not think the manner in which Hogan got the belt from Yokozuna was credible. But, sure, even Wrestlemania 9 had some decent moments such as the Steiners vs the Headshrinkers, Shawn Michaels vs Tatanka, and Lex Luger vs Mr. Perfect.

Canadian Pitbull, Travis, and Stephenvegas, my apologies. I've heard a lot of people associate their hatred for Hogan with WM IX. Sorry for jumping the gun.

I've always thought that WrestleMania X was deceptively bad. People don't remember it being bad because it had two very good matches - Bret Hart v. Owen Hart and the first ladder match, but those people don't consider that this same card always made you sit through Yokozuna v. Lex Luger, Bam Bam Bigelow & Luna Vachon v. Doink and Dink, Men on a Mission v. The Quebecers, Lelani Kai v. Alundra Blayze and Adam Bomb v. Earthquake. At least WrestleMania IX looked good on paper.

WM 9-13 were very bad, with a very few decent matches sprinkled throughout.

Wrestlemania is one of those events that I have always enjoyed when it is going on. Looking back, some of them don't hold up so well over time, though.
My least favorite was probably WM 2. I watched a replay not long ago, and thought it was horrible from top to bottom. I was a little kid in 1986, but I really don't think I enjoyed it as much then as I did the others from that period.

WM 11 was probably the worst. Now having bought the Anthology, I agree with Joe that many of the WM's don't hold up well. Some are downright brutal.
10 was pretty bad as well, except for the HBK-Razor Ladder Match and Hart-Yokozuna.

Wrestling has changed so much over the years. I tend to lean the opposite way, that the old WrestleMania's are much better than the new ones. Personally since 10 I haven't enjoyed them as much. I even enjoy the old matches better. For me it always goes back to the larger than life characters, colorful gimmicks, and the fact that the big matches were a special treat and the shows weren't oversaturated with them.
I don't enjoy the "realistic" gimmicks... I think they're boring. And a main event of HHH vs. Cena? I'd rather watch Koko B. Ware vs. anyone.
