I always enjoyed the Royal Rumble and always wondered who would come out first
I loved the original War Games as well
My Top 5 are
1-Royal Rumble-Even though its to predictable now 2-War Games-Was awesome until they ruined it 3-Hell in the Cell-Brutal but is being used to much 4-Survivor Series-I have always been a fan of the original all team elimination PPV's. These days your lucky if we get one elimination match 5-Lethal Lottery-I loved this idea. To bad it didn't last
6-Crocket Cup-I loved the idea of bringing tag teams from all over the world to compete in a tournament 7-Elimiation Chamber 8-King of the Ring-I enjoyed the first couple then it went downhill from there

I would say RR, but you're right Jim; it's too predictable now, so I'll go with HIAC.

Rumble. But they need not make it for the no.1 contender spot at WM anymore...this way really anybody could win except for one or two guys.

My favorite Pay-Per-View specialty match was only used once or twice at Halloween Havoc-Spin The Wheel Make A Deal! It was a giant wheel with all kinds of specialty matches on it. You did not know which one would come up. I liked the element of surprise.
I am also partial to the Classic Survivor Series Elimination Match because it originated right here in Cleveland.
And as a fan of Tag Team wrestling, you couldn't beat the Crockett Cup!!!!!

I agree that they should revise the stipulation for the winner of the Royal Rumble, but it it still among my favorite PPV match types- every year iti sone of the few PPVs besides Wrestlemania that I already know I am going to order.
But I think my actual favorite is cage matches of some sort- such as regular cage matches, Hell in a Cell, barbed wire steel cage matches, War Games, and the Tower of Terror.

I was always a huge fan of the War Games especially the early ones. When the Horsemen took on the Road Warriors and SuperPowers or when the Horsemen took on Sting, Pillman, and the Steiners those were great matches. I have an 8 hour tape here at my house with every war games match on it.
I also really enjoy Survivor Series matches and the Royal Rumble. I think if the WWE went back to the original format of the Survivor Series and had all the matches as elimination matches they could further angles and drag them out a little longer then 3 to 6 weeks.

My choice is the Rumble. It's hard to screw up.

I love the rumbles (especially the Royal Rumble). I like the bunkhouse rumbles the NWA use to do. But I love tournaments as well...

Wargames was AWESOME before the ruined it. The Rumble is a waste now because when was it the last time someone you didn't expect to win actually won it. I know it's fake...but give me some suspension of disbelief!
Speaking of ruining, gosh, I miss the old elemination days of the Survivor Series. How do these organizations ruin such good ideas.

The Rumble is awesome, especially since now the winner gets a title shot. Plus, I remember when I was younger and saw Ax be #1 and Smash be #2 and saw Demolition fight each other! That was awesome!!

Definately gotta go with the Rumble. Much like the Gatekeeper, seeing Ax and Smash go at it in the second rumble made me hooked. It is always a great PPV, you really can't mess it up too much. Although I agree its getting too predictable (last year I told my wife at the beginning that it would be either Batista or Cena that would win and low and behold who were the last 2). Maybe the winner gets any match they want at WM, and include the champs in the Rumble. Who knows?
I like Survivor Series better now that it is a mix of traditional SS matches and regular matches. Although you need atleast 2-3 tradtional SS matches to make it work well.
Never cared much for Wargames.
HIAC is good, but you need the right people in there. Kevin Nash is not the right guy.
Lethal Lottery was one of the dumbest ideas ever IMO. Random teams with no purpose.
Wouldn't mind seeing a Crockett Cup Tourney again. Of course there are no tag teams any more...so it would be almost like the Lethal Lottery.

Great points. Actually, I agree -- the winner should not get a title shot, because it IS becoming predictable.

Got to be Royal Rumble. Some of my favourite wrestling memories as a kid are the Royal Rumble matches. Old school Survivor Series where it was just team matches with maybe a World Title match comes in second...but its not the same anymore. The old WCW 'Spin the wheel...make the deal' matches were cool...didn't they happen at Halloween Havoc?

When I made these comments, one personal MAJOR omission for me from this list of matches that are either steel cage types or similar (i.e Hell in a Cell) is the Elimination Chamber. It is sort of like a mini royal rumble (you don't know who is going to enter the action next) in a caged enclosure and the results usualy aren't quite as predictable.

I actually would like to see the Iron Man challege that WCW had in 1990 when Sting beat Flair to win it.
