Which do you prefer?
For years I was way, way behind, and I didn't get much out of the fed forum and such because most people were so far ahead that I didn't know anything about the wrestlers and their motivations.
When I got the New Beginning set I was still behind (IE I am in March of 2120, and most here are gearing up for 2122) but I'm close enough that I have the most current sets and I know which wrestlers people are talking about. Now I find myself enjoying the game all the more, and being able to interact and participate in discussions more than ever.
So being current (or nearly current) is fun, but I prefer being a bit behind the times. It allows me to know what storylines are coming for the next year, and to prepare for them. Those who read my fed (cheap plug: READ IT!) know I like to do slow burns with lots of angles....planting seeds for upcoming storylines early on. This allows me to keep continuity in my fed, but it also lets me play out the stories in a fashion that I like.
So for me I like to be current and have the latest set in hand...but I prefer to play a little bit behind. How about you guys?

When I first joined the boards, I was behind....I'm not sure how far off hand, but behind none the less. I remember reading Swarm's fed in the forums, when Tauran was his Champ....Thinking how is that guy champ, Tauran is horrible. Well thats because I was playing with his first card,(when he was old as hell) not knowing he gets an update soon. DUH.. I think the boards are way better now that I'm caught up. When other boards members talk about current stuff. I actually know who and what their talking about.
I remember reading stuff about Endgame and thinking man he sounds awesome, "I can't wait to play that card" or reading that Mandrill was afraid of Epoch and thinking...Epoch must be the toughest son a b***h alive, if Mandrill is scared. (Mandrill was a multi time Champ who was gonna end up in my HOF). So Epoch must be Tougher than Chaos. I couldn't wait to get there. or when people talked about Mensar and Euritar not being around anymore and me thinking, "WHAT". Those two are great and young and the future of the GWF. How can they be gone already...You have to realize New Beginnings meant nothing to me at this time and a lot of guys wouldn't be on the roster.
So my experience has improved since I caught up.
tkx again, the dice don't lie!

When I first started I played like crazy. I'd play 3 years worth of fight cards before I got the latest edition. So I was always "ahead " !! If that makes sense !!

Even if you're behind you can buy the latest editions, so you have an idea of what's going on.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm in 2119 and working towards some of the things I have read about in the forums here. My thoughts are to gradually merge in 2120 and 2121 over a few cards. Since I am not necesarily following the official storyline, It will work for my fed.
