As part of my current ongoing draft in my LOW fed Major League Wrestling (MLW), Johnny Valiant recently got drafted from my Smackdown brand to my RAW brand where he announced he's becoming Brutus Beefcake's new manager.
While I mostly plan to use him in a manager's capacity for awhile and I am still going to use the official LOW card for Johnny Valaint with his official wrestler stats because he might occasionally form a tag team with Beefcake for some matches and even someday reform the Valiants with Jimmy Valaint, I'm trying to decide whether I will give Johnny Valaint a distractor rating of probably either 6 or 7 and I'm leaning toward 7.
Some LOW manager's with distractor ratings of 6 are Nikita Breznikov, Sherri Martel, and Abdullah Farouk (except for when Farouk's DR is 7 when managing the Sheik).
Some LOW manager's with distractor ratings of 7 are Paul Ellering and Captain Lou Albano.
I think an 8, Bobby Heenan's level, might be too high of a Distractor Rating for Johnny Valaint. But what do you guys think I should use?
So what would you make Johnny Valiant's Distractor Rating if I want to use him as a manager but with his current official wrestling stats?

I was thinking 5 or 6 (voted for 6). Johnny V couldn't lace Ellering or Albano's boots, 7 is way too high for him.
I'd probably also downgrade his wrestling stats, maybe give him a L3O (tag) move for tag matches with Beefcake. If you have the COTG Ringside Companion with the "Coming Out of Retirement" chart, that might be a good guide.

I'd probably lean towards a 5. I admit that I didn't see a lot of Johnny V. when he managed, but I guess I don't see him being as good of a distractor and as active as Sherri.
I agree with my brother--a slight downgrade for his wrestling stats would make sense, if you're going to use him as a manager who occasionally wrestles, as opposed to an active wrestler.

I would give Valiant a 6, but I would bump Sherri up to a 7 IMHO.

I was originally thinking 7, but you guys have convinced me and I'll go with 6. But I think I'll keep Johnny Valiant's official stats intact because I want to use him as more of a wrestler who manages (like Roddy Piper when he managed Paul Orndorff upon Piper's debut in the WWF) instead of as a retired manager who occasionally wrestles (like Captain Lou Albano). Plus I'll probably return Johnny Valiant to a full time wrestling status someday.

This is a funny topic as I have been using him on & off as a manager since the second set was released. The first set saw him and Jimmy battle the Road Warriors for the tag-titles, but each team actually exchanged the belts so many times that I ordered a "Final Conflict" Steel Cage Match where the losing team had to split up (I was prepared to use Hawk or Animal as singles contenders, under the management of Ellering). However the Warriors smoked the Valiants and Johnny became a manager first for Jimmy , then feuded with Jimmy for causing the breakup. All the while I assigned 6 as a distractor since he interfered more than Cherie, but was not at the level of Albano, Cornette or Heenan.
Then he managed Beefcake and Valentine to the belts, but is currently on hiatus. Jimmy has been in and out of my feds until the Boogie Woogie card and has been a gutty mainstay since.

I'd say 6. I agree with daytondave that Sherri should have a 7. I'd also downgrade Nikita to 5, if not 4.

I say a five. Johnny wasn't really a good maager and so I voted like this.
