OK, I want to start COTG right now ! From all the promoter madness stuff going on and how great it sounds I cant wait any longer.
my question, Where do I start when I want to start from the very very beginning, I got kinda confused as should I go with The introductory set or early classics ? If early classics, does it go right to the introductory set then continue ? Can someone list each set for the first ten sets that will start me at the start without having to backtrack. Will I have to back track anyway ??
Any help is good help.
Thanks in advance Larry

That's what my girl is doing and she loves it. It will cost you about 60 bucks to get 2119, 2120, 2121, PM and the couple few SE cards like Plethador and Scimitar. This is going to be one of the best decisions you have ever made.

Something you can also do (and what I am doing) is start from the very beginning while also running 2119 and on. That way you can build a real history and also be caught up with all the excitement.

Hey if you want to see how Assassin X started before Promoter Madness you can check out this link. www.krazykards.com/profile_se2.phpI know this is before his now official card but this is where he originated from. If was to start out now maybe get the newest COTG stuff and work your way back might be fun to do. Kevin

my question, Where do I start when I want to start from the very very beginning, I got kinda confused as should I go with The introductory set or early classics ? If early classics, does it go right to the introductory set then continue? There are three (well, four) jumping-on points, really. Option #1: 2087. Original boxed set. The first set released. Contains everything you need to play. You can then progress year-by-year up to the current set. Option #2: 2119. New Beginnings boxed set. Designed as a fresh start. Contains everything you need to play. Only a couple of game years behind the current set, so you'll catch up much faster. I highly recommend it, but it isn't the 'very beginning'. Option #3: 2074. The first set chronologically. Does not contain everything you need - you'll want the 2087 box as well, or at least the accessories pack. The sets between 2074 and 2087 are irregular - 2074, 2079, 2084, 2086, 2087 - so you'll soon catch up on 2087. Option #4: Storm The Ring. Contains, well, pretty much everything ever made. A big investment, but cheaper in the long run. If you're dead set on starting at the very beginning, I'd say go with 2087 and the four Early Classics sets, and start in 2074. But be aware there will be gaps. Skipping the Early Classics and starting at 2087 gives you a long, long road to the present - plenty of time to build up your history. Personally, I jumped straight in at 2119 and that's plenty for me. You can get caught up quickly and cheaply, and you're still getting enough characters to run for a long time if you want to. On a side note - anyone know why the online store doesn't have Invasion 2089 listed? The invasion triple-pack is still there. EDIT: There's also the option of running a CPC or aCe fed, but it sounds like you're more interested in the GWF to start with.

2119...up to date in short order and with COTGOnline coming you'll be able to go back to 2087 (and maybe earlier) that way...
Just what i would do if i were starting off...
