I just got back from spending 3 days in Tucson and other parts of southern Arizona which included a few hours stop at Tombstone, Arizona. If you like History (which is the subject I have 2 degrees in), Tombstone is cool to see because alot of the town (includiing the O.K. Corral, The Bird Cage, The Tompstone Epitaph, and the Crystal Palace where I had a beer and which still has 26 bullet holes throughout the ceiling) has been largely preserved from the days when it was a major silver mining town and ran partly by Wyatt Earp and his brothers for awhile. But some dumb a*s that I saw in one of the shops said he actually thought the town was named after The Undertaker. In many of the shops along the main street (Allen) in Tombstone, there were posters of all the various movies made about Tombstone. So I was wondering, which of these movies do you consider the best? I liked all of these, but I liked "Tombstone" the best.

I went to Tombstone back in the early eighties and I still remember a bit about the trip. I still have my mock copy of the Tombstone Epitath as well. My most haunting memory involves a player piano. Anyway, I liked Tombstone better too. Val Kilmer's Doc Holliday was awesome and apperently it was pretty accurate to how Holliday actually was. Kilmer also had the best lines. www.docholliday.info/film.htm

Wyatt Earp ( and I'm NOT a Costner fan at all ) was soooooooooooo much more historically accurate. Tombstone was nothing but the old west dime novel movie. Good for what it was but FAR from history. Kurt Russell was a joke as Wyatt with his so fake looking glued on mustache. Although Sam Elliot and Bill Paxton along with Kilmer ruled in their roles. So Havoc you are the one wrong my friend .

My vote definitely had to go to Tombstone. It is one of those rare movies that almost everyone I have ever spoken to about it has seen it, and everyone liked it.
Val Kilmer gave one of the great supporting performances in the history of American cinema with his portrayal of Doc Holiday. In fact, the entire cast was superb.
Depending on what sources you cite, Tombstone may actually be the most historically accurate of the OK Corral movies. Regardless, the quality of the movie blew the others out of the water.
