What is the greatest mafia movie of all time?
Earlier today I finished reading the book "Wise Guy" which was the basis for the great movie "Goodfellas." So now I was curious as to what you guys consider the greatest mob movie of all time. I'm personally going with Goodfellas, but it is a tough call because on this poll there are many great movies- a number of which I own on DVD.

The original Godfather.
The Sopranos is better than any of these movies, though, partly due to just how much it covers IMO.

I haven't cast my vote yet (as it's very hard to vote against The Godfather or Goodfellas) ...
But I just saw A History of Violence and was very happy with that movie.

Two.
It's tragedy in it's purest, most beautiful, most painful form.

Scorsese and Coppola are so different in their styles, and i like Casino and goodfellas, but i love the Shakespearean quality of the Godfather I and II.

I always liked Goodfellas, but Scarface, Casino, Godfather, Pulp Fiction, and A Bronx Tale...were all fine movies.

I could probably recite "Carlito's Way" line for line. One of my all-time favorites. Too bad it never really caught on though.

Another mob movie called Eastern Promises comes out in 2 weeks and it is by the same director who did A History of Violence. I saw the preview of Eastern Promises tonight when I saw Death Sentence and it looks like it is going to be a really good movie.

Another upsoming mob movie that looks like it is going to be really good is "American Gangster."
"American Gangster" gets released next Friday on November 2 and it stars two really awesome actors in Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe.
