I've heard a lot of talk that about him coming to MLS. I figure New York or one of the two LA area teams are his most likely stop. Of course that's all ideal speculation.

Something tells me , he'll cause chaos and stay in Spain . End up joining hated rival Barcelona .

He's coming to the MLS and going to play in LA along side Donovan...to show him "how" to play and get Donovan to make the most of his talent.
He wants the publicity in the States and the MLS wants it too...if they can land Beckham, they might be able to lure a couple more names to the States and do like Pele and Beckenbaouer did for the Cosmos in the late 70s...

The new rules for MLS openning their pocketbooks for big name players...May bring Beckham over...as long as it don't take away from the US players...Not just Beckham but any other name player...That is what killed The NASL among other things...but if done well could bring the level of play in the US up a couple of notches

I was watching ESPN this afternoon and they had a mistake on their "bottom line sports ticker" ..... it said that the LA Galaxy had signed Beckham to a 5 year, $250 million dollar contract.
This can't be true.
I find it hard to belive that the MLS made close to $250 million last year, let alone one franchise.

MLS likely didn't, but Beckham will put butts in seats and i can almost guarantee that Galaxy jerseys are already flying off the shelves. This morning on FSN during the Premiership games the adds they crawl were all about Beckham coming to LA...and you being able to get his jersey...Already making money!

Also, for those who don't know the MLS has a "corporate" owner. What that means is that they can control who goes where without having to worry about dealing with different owners at each city. Each team has a GM, but there is a group that oversees operations and decides on where to put players to take advantage of location demographics. Beckham is going to LA because he has that LA "look" and can work the Hollywood pretty-boy angle into the league. Trust me, if they land Ronaldo, like has been rumored, he will end up playing for Chivas or for one of the Texas clubs because of the Hispanic demographics in those area.
